I wasn't aware that Floyd refused to let Chino wear Cleto Reyes gloves. He has certainly let other boxers wear Cleto Reyes against him.

I though the issue was Maidona wearing MX Everlast gloves. I am not familiar with those. But anyone that knows anything about boxing is familiar with Cleto Reyes. So Floyd making Chino wear Grant Gloves instead seems silly, and also makes Floyd seem a little bit insecure about himself.

Pretty pathetic, no Cleto Reyes or E/MX.

If Mayweather doesn't want to get hit with Cleto Reyes gloves then it's time to retire or find another sport, seem like he's getting soft.

Floyd is a big crybaby, he held Chino tight and looked to his big brother Tony Weeks to rescue him when he became uncomfortable on the ropes. And what's with his freaky carnival corner with little pain and pony boy bieber ? All the money in the world will never give Floyd any class. him simply acts like trailer trash in and outside of the ring.... "They walk among us"..........

Next time out Floyd will tell you that "everyone should wear headgear as it's safer for fighters" and ONLY then will you even bring it up!

Lets face it, until Floyd brought up this wacky comment, you were NOT bringing up this point and only because your hero brought it up, now it's all good.

I have news for you: Floyd, Ellerbe, Schaeffer and everyone involved promoted this fight with the fact that Maidana has a high KO ratio .... "so come see this PPV fight and pay to see this KO artist try to KO Floyd"

Now, less than 24 hours to the fight they remove punchers gloves from that KO artist ...... Can the boxing fans get back their PPV money now that they heard of this news (late)?

Floyd did get hit low a times.. But some of it was Floyd trying to deflect chinos shot and it deflected low.
Lmao you sound ******ed...what I'm taking from this comment is that you're ok with all the stuff that Chino did in the name of winning, right? But Floyd is dirty for using his forearm?!

Maidana needs to follow the rules just like anyone else but Floyd has been using dirty tactics and getting away with it for the most part. Floyd gets a warning but these refs are not taking no points away from him, so Floyd continues to do it!

When you try to punch your opponent and you get an elbow to the face/neck area, it doesn't tickle and it obstructs you from returning a punch. Similarly, Floyd uses his forearm.

Floyd has gone as far sucker punching an opponent that wasn't expecting it. Not just Ortiz, but there are others such as Gatti, Mosley, .....

Floyd did quite a bit in the Maidana fight too. There were low blows from Floyd too but all we hear are Floyd fans talk about how dirty Maidana was without stating that their fighter wasn't a saint in there. As much as he can, Floyd tries to "hide" his dirty play. In other words, elbows on the opposite side of where the ref is. So sometimes the ref sees it, sometimes he doesn't.

Several times, the ref warned Maidana. No problem but at times Maidana complained that he did it in retaliation to what Floyd did first. Ref didn't even turn to say the same to Floyd .....

BTW, both were warned but from the refs own mouth, after the fight, he said he was close to deducting a point away from Maidana only.

Thats because Maidana was the only one who tackled and then attempted to knee his opponent.

yeah because you know that no ref will ever take a point away from mayweather for that fcuking elbow that he uses every fight!

SHade-before every floyd fight NSB posters, the fighters trainer, and every analyst suggests the way to beat floyd is to rough him up and make it a dirty fight. We should be able to agree on that.

If that is every opponents plan, why is it a problem if floyd employs similair tactics in response? I get your point that he should be warned or have a point deducted at times, but again given that stated gameplan of the opponent its not an unreasonable response.

The best example I can give is the Mares was fighting AGbeko (i believe) on the air paulie told us the way a pro deals with repeated low blows not addressed by the ref is a low blow in response.

Is floyd not allowed a to also use proportional response?
