Several questions exist that were not addressed during that whole scene:
#1 - Was Garcia aware of the diminished padding in the gloves Maidana was originally going to wear (The one's rejected by the NSAC and Team TMT)
If he was then that is incredibly suspect -- any trainer that's been in the game for as long as he has should have noticed that there was a padding discrepancy right away without an outsider bringing it to his attention ......... Again extremely suspect!
This is a question that should have been asked of Garcia that night, by both the Commission and TMT.
And is the real reason Team Maidana, is raising hell about being allowed to use their magic gloves is because they've used thin gloves before in ignorance. Because here something that Garcia cannot get away from -- If he cannot tell that those gloves were thin in the knuckle on May 3rd, then he most likely allowed the use of thinned gloves before, because he doesn't know any better.
And that situation would demand that Garcia be thoroughly informed and trained about the proper thickness of Pro. boxing gloves going forward.
#2 - All this talk about allowing Maidana to wear his gloves of choice is a valid one -- But they must have the recommended amount of padding. He cannot have his special gloves with diminished padding and think that everyone should go along with that BS.
#3 - TMT has to learn to accept the decisions of the NSAC and also accept that just because TMT is the A-side, doesn't mean that they can control every aspect of the event. And it doesn't mean that they have the final say in all matters.
Now point\question number one, doesn't infer guilt, nor does it imply that Garcia knowingly and was willingly allowing the use of thinned gloves.
But it does suggest that if he doesn't know the difference, then now is the time to learn.
