Well, Eubank said a few times circa 96-99 that he wanted Jones to come to England and said Jones would have the biggest payday of his life if he did. But Jones said that he'd only go to England if Eubank gave him something to fight for, so he took the Calzaghe and Thompson fights. Actually, Eubank's last fight was chief support to Jones' fight with Del Valle on HBO and Sky and there was going to be a satellite link-up if Eubank and Jones Jr both won - with Eubank offering Jones to come to England and fight him for the cruiserweight title. But, Jones should of fought Eubank anyway. Eubank was a bigger challenge than the Lou Del Valle's of this world.

As for that ego/purse ****, no it wasn't about money in any of those cases other than maybe Collins.
no idea why i said that, i was thinking of mike mc. eubank himself said he would have had an extremly hard time with rjj and didnt he also recently state that he could be hw champ of the world right now??

Oh and there was nothing 'typically Euro' about Nigel Benn or Chris Eubank!

              Your joking, aren't you?

The Toney that Jones fought was so extremely weight-drained that he had no place in a boxing ring, he couldn't of beaten any top 20 SMW that night.

Tiozzo beat McCallum before Jones. And I don't think Jones would of beaten McCallum at MW.

Michalczewski beat Hill before Jones, Benn or Eubank could of definately moved up and beat Hill.

That's just based on how CLOSE their actual fight was (when McCallum was ****ing 40 years old), I remember it was like 8-4 for Jones and I don't think any round was a blow-out until the end. Based on that, you can't say that Jones would of beaten the McCallum of 89/90.

Benn, Eubank, G-Man, Julian Jackson, Lamar Parks, Mike Nunn, Joe Calzaghe, Steve Collins, Frank Liles, Fabrice Tiozzo, Dariusz Michalczewski, Vassiliy Jirov, and that's just for starters.

He should of fought atleast Benn or Eubank.
Benn- ****ed by G-man, never the same...lost to a guy Roy easily KO'd (Thulane Malinga)
Eubank- you're a ridiculous Eubank ****-sucker and nothing you say about him can be taken seriously
G-man- brain damaged by Benn b4 Roy could fight him
Jackson- this is a joke, Jackson and Roy's paths should never have crossed based on where they were in their respective careers. At the time Roy was good at 168, Jackson might as well have been retired.
                      Parks- no one cares
Nunn- don't recall there being a demand for this fight
Calzaghe? Jesus Christ, get real...the man never wanted out of the UK...is facing a challenge finally after 40 fights, and guess what? it's in the UK
Collins- subpar brawler who lost to McCallum, if he wanted to fight Roy, all he had to do was become a mandatory
Liles- Liles never made much of a name for himself in the pros, maybe that is why Roy and him did not hook up
Tiozzo? ****ing get outta here with that bull****.
DM? Again, you're joking. DM never wanted to leave Germany if his ***** depended on it.
Jirov? Jirov was a cruiserweight and Roy had no obligation to fight him. Jirov went on to lose to Toney and Roy fought a HEAVYWEIGHT champ instead of Jirov...can't fault him for that.
