Nothing to expain, Floyd is a charlatan who was obviously scared. Being a 10-1 favorite wasn't enough, he still needed to pull some "slick bs" for further reassurance. Mathysse used those same gloves a week ago and the commission had no issues with it, but Mayweather - being the diva that he is, threatened to cancel the fight unless his demands were met.

Mayweather wouldn't even agree to the Cleto Reyes gloves, but it's okay for his stablemate and fellow TMT boxer Jleon Love to use them on the same card.

Floyd's team threatened to pull out of the fight and with Maidana's teams lack of experience in these big fights, they thought that Floyd would actually do it. The reality is they would have been sued for millions of dollars had they pulled out of the fight but Garcia and the rest of the camp are not lawyers.

Maidana was in the same position as Marquez when Floyd cheated him on the scales. He knew he was getting screwed but couldn't just walk away from the fight. It's not a realistic option, and Floyd knew it.

Floyd is far from scared of any fighter. Peoples lack of knowledge of the fight game is laughable. Madaina loss the fight and gloves had nothing to do with it. Your right. Back then the standard was 8 and they used 10. I was thinking the current standard 10 for middleweights.

But it makes no difference. The A-side fighter still had several advantages and demands in his favor. And Maidana got a higher payday last night then he will get combined for the rest of his entire career so miss me with that purse ****. He will probably get even more in the rematch.
