Difference is that on the Hoya fight gloves were set on the fight contract... on Maidana fight both parties can use whatever gloves they wanted... mayweather decided to make Maidana wear gloves with more padding hours away from the fight.

It was stipulated in the contract for the De la hoya fight, it wasn't stipulated in the contract for Floyds fight with Maidana.

What, and then be blackballed from boxing and miss out on a million dollar payday while letting his training camp go to waste?

I hate to be "that guy" but where is this A-side/B-side garbage in MMA and kickboxing?

The appeal of a fight is watching 2 guys who have beaten other guys clash with each other. In boxing one guy "graciously invites the challenger to probably lose should he meet these conditions"? Only if he hands away every possible advantage to the "A-side" is he allowed to fight. There's this obsession with protecting "superstars" and people don't get it: Most people don't care about superstars. They want to watch a fight. Only a few zitfaces sit and watch Floyd talk about his cars and his 0.

Aside from that, all Floyd said here was basically "I was wrong and they were right but I have more money".

he does. and while i dont agree with the idea that the A side should be able to give himself all kinds of advantages merely by being the A side i think this case is different.

keep in mind, fighters look at their opponents gloves for a reason. its not like floyd is doing something new, it happens on occasion that a fighter protests the gloves the other guy is wearing. its not unheard of like lots of people are pretending.

he also wasnt complaining that they were punchers gloves but that they were just plain faulty. not that it has horse hair padding but that its not enough of it. as for maidana complaining about wearing other gloves, thats their problem. you should always pick at least two pairs of gloves to wear in case there is an issue like that.

why were those blue gloves even presented tho? was that a joke? he had a right to be mad about the blue ones... i dont really understand anything outside of that, were the ones he had an issue with after that the same as the blue ones?

They wouldn't have cancelled the show... That's why I said call their bluff..

Maidana should have asked for 2 million to switch gloves, or cancel it... He would have gotten the extra money no doubt
