I felt otherwise, although I thought Maidana took all the early rds, I felt Floyd was going to dominate the second half. Unlike his fight vs Broner, Maidana did not gas late and showed much better stamina.

    • I think a lot of folks scoring the fight and giving Maidana 5 rounds or more are seeing things that weren't there. Maidana expended too much energy the 1st half of the fight wrestling and smothering his work on the ropes, and Floyd took advantage in the 2nd half with great body work leading to Maidana dropping his hands and getting clipped with lead rights, and counters'. To me, this was a easy fight too score.

The last 6-7 rounds, aside from the 8th, you'd be hard pressed to find much clean work Maidana did. Meanwhile Floyd was tagging him often with lead rights, left hooks, jabs to the body, etc.

I didn't see Floyd do nearly enough in rounds 4 or 6 to win them. 8th and 1st were Maidana rounds by all accounts it seems. Now at this point, the 3rd and 5th were close, you'd probably give one to each guy. So unless you gave all the close rounds to Floyd, I don't see Floyd winning 8 rounds. I split the two real razor sharp close rounds.
So you've just said "unless you give all the close rounds to Floyd you can't see how it's 8 rounds to Floyd" so you've just said 8-4 is possibility so how exactly is it ridiculous when you've just admitted that it's possible?

          I gave Madiana 1, 3, 5 and 8 and could see him winning the 4th and 6th.

To say Round 6 is a dominant or clear Maidana round is what's ridiculous.

Your card itself could easily be 8-4.

Because I think giving every close round to Floyd is ridiculous, especially in rounds he didn't do too much.

But you're saying they're close rounds so they could be scored for Floyd.

So you're saying it's possible to give Floyd 8 rounds if he gets all the ones you feel are close.

So there's 8 rounds that could possibly to go to Floyd.

So please explain to me how it's possible for that score to he ridiculous when you're admitting that it's possible.

I don't know how many times I need to say your own card needs just one close round to be the other way and it's 8-4. Go and watch Round 6 and see if you think it couldn't go in Floyds favour. That makes your card a "ridiculous" 8-4 instead of a "far from ridiculous" 7-5

              • Floyd won. Maidana lost. Whats the debate here. In boxing you need more than 4 rounds to win the fight. You kids haven't learned from the cotto fight huh?

Winning 4 rounds vs Mayweather is not a moral victory.

Floyd dug deep like the greats do. Robinson struggled with a "B fighter" in Lamotta, and Ray Robinson is perhaps the GOAT. Floyd is one of the best to lace up a pair of gloves, and Maidana tested him.

Maidana in the end didn't land enough clear and clean punches the 2nd half. Mayweather was really tagging him the last 6-7 rounds, and adjusted on the ropes.

How about all those body shots Floyd landed??? No one is talking about that aside from Al Bernstein.
Dont compare Lamotta and Maidana LMAO! How the **** was lamotta a b fighter?

Maidana done well considering he had to change his gloves because someone was crying before the fight.
