Mayweather clearly won 7 rounds to me. Maidana clearly won 4 rounds to me and MAYBE edged a 5th round. This is why I scored it 7-5 for Mayweather. It was a Clear win but close fight. I bet you anything if they have a rematch, Floyd will be using his legs a lot more and he will keep the fight in the middle of the ring. That is one thing I noticed in this fight is that he actually stayed on the ropes even when he didn't need to. Usually he is running around the ring and picking his spots. He did it quite less in this fight and it almost cost him.
After enough time passes people will smarten up and see the fight for what it was, a competitive, close fight with a clear winner: Mayweather. Just like against Cotto who imo made it a much tougher and closer fight. The only ones that will continue to complain about this fight are the die-hard basement dwelling haters. That's all.
This fight was nothing like the Cotto fight, Cotto got near swept, this should have been a draw.
[QUOTE=Dirk Diggler UK;14503591]Cotto did quite a bit better IMO.
They wanted to sell the morons a rematch is what I'm thinking here. I haven't heard Showtime's commentary yet.[/]
It was a different fight entirely. Cotto made each round a little closer, but didn't win any rounds clearly apart from maybe one or two max. It was a 10-2/9-3 fight.
This fight was actually very close, with Maidana clearly winning at least 4 rounds.
Chino won the first 5 rounds to start the fight off. He clearly won those rounds, no way around it. Chino clearly won the 8th as well as the 7th.
Folks are claiming Maidana made this in to a dirty fight but he was actually responding to Floyds holding and Floyds forearms and elbows to the throat. These are two tactics Mayweather uses over and over, tonight he had afihter tha twasn't going to tolerate it. Unfortuantely the ref started breaking them quickly as the fight wore cutting off Maidanads work when Floyd would tie up Chinos arm.
Floyd adjusted and had some decent moments but he lost this fight 7-5 or 8-4, it wasn't very close. He got beat up tonight and looked as if he didn't want to be in that ring. Money was actually crying to the referee when he was holding Chino.
Its a shame because the 117-111 shows that any round that is even remotely close automatically goes to Floyd. There needs to be an investigation in to this type of nonsense because it is awful for boxing.
