The fact of the matter is, Floyd was missing a lot, he was cut, bruised up and was never in control of this fight the way he has been with most of his opponents. For Maidana this was closer to normal when looking at all of his fights. Mayweather was not working the full three minutes where as Maidana was. I don't care what the punch stats say, watch the fight again and you will see clearly that mayweather was missing most of his punches in this fight. I would much rather be Maidana then Mayweather in this fight. Mayweathers face was busted up, so Maidana was doing something right.
Floyd will probably duck a rematch with Maidana, as he's ducked many fighters. Floyd lost tonight but he got the Nod. That's boxing. Everyone knows floyd lost, and the people who are not willing to live with that, are the same people who need to Mute the T.V to give Castillo a loss to Mayweather or Bradley a win over Pacquiao..

And personally, I don't even think it was a "close" fight. It was competitive. It was grueling. But I'd love to sit down with anybody objective and have them show me more than 3-4 rounds that Chino won. That said, Floyd is gonna get in there one night let someone out work him and get a decision because two of the three judges don't see all the good work he's doing defensively. The Phillip N'dou fight comes to mind. There was a moment in that fight were N'dou had Floyd pinned against the ropes and fired at least 30 punches at Floyd. He missed every last one of them. But, Floyd never threw back. And IMO, the ref could have easily stopped the fight. It would have been controversal. But IMO it wouldn't have been a "robbery" because you can't let a guy throw 30-40 punches in a row and never throw back.
Either way, the only thing concerning to me tonight as a Floyd fan is that he wad never able to hurt Chino. I think a lot of it had to do with Chino swamping Floyd and never letting him get comfortable enough to sit down on his punches. That and I think the body work Chinook invested in early kinda zapped Floyd. Because to me, Floyd was noticably a lil gassed in the late rounds.
Great Post

They were going crazy over that because Maidana forced Floyd to fight his fight. Pushing him to the ropes and forcing him to cover up for large parts of the round. It wasn't so much the punches, but the ring generalship that Maidana was showing that surprised everyone (not just the commentators). However, they were getting wet over Mayweather missing 5 punches in a row. The replays clearly showed Maidana dodging punches and Showtime was just talking about how Mayweather was landing these clean punches on him when the punches weren't landing. It was weird to say the least.

maidana comes with BIG WIN
For me Maidana is a winner. Mayweather has nothing to do except for a defense, cannot throw punches. mayweather has excuses of headbutt but his the one holding maidana. maidana is a clear winner, the judges and the referee is in favor to scared mayweather. if mayweather and pacquiao will come to terms i think the judges is 1 from london, 1 from russia and 1 for germany.
