I can feel Ward wanting certain things, but damn at some point you need to be real, look at the landscape (which might be part of the reason for the willingness to sue, what does he have to do at this moment really) and then ask what can Goosen really do.
Ward might be in the worst position in the whole sport at this moment in time, which sucks for someone of his talent.Comment

I'm going to guess that Goosen can get him fights but either Goosen can't guarantee a million+ payday for Andre or that Andre feels that his opponent is pricing himself out/getting paid too much. Andre comes across as the guy who believes in the A side/B side of boxing and believes that the B side shouldn't be making anything close to what the A side makes. His comments leading up to the Edwin fight is what makes me think like this. Either way it sounds like he's being a prima donna which is ******, getting paid is better then not getting paid in my book.Comment

Does Ward have a legitimate claim that Goosen violated their contract? I know that Ward is pissed that Goosen won't attend meetings with HBO and himself, and he feels like Goosen is too much in control of his career.Comment

No. That's probably why he keeps losing.
He's going to arbitration because it's in his contract to go through that process before he can sue. He doesn't believe that decision is binding so he's trying state court. He likely won't resolve the law suit for years, unless he's just posturing to potentially negotiate some type of buy-out or cancellation of his contract.
The funniest part is the tacking of time because of litigation. The longer he tries to fight the contract, the longer he stays under contract.Comment

Well Goosen helped negotiate Ward's contract with the super 6 thus giving him a name. He offered Ward the chance to fight on tv and get a name for himself, he fronted the cash necessary to get Ward where he is today. Ward is contractually obligated to make Goosen his money back and a profit if possible. Goosens risk is loss of capital, Wards risk is possible physical loss. Their was an offer, acceptance, capacity, a meeting of the minds.Comment

Honestly I was wondering when James Prince was going to come into the picture. Say what you will about Al haymon but he gets results and his fighters are the first ones to attest to that (#thankalhaymon). Ward has been in this legal case for at least a full year and this is the first I've heard James Prince make a move on this.Comment

I think the cause of the issue is both parties being difficult. Ward keeps staying in a division that is basically dead for him now, and Goossen does not have anything to offer him and seems to be content to allow Ward to remain dormant without even trying.Comment

WARD has a lot of possible fights but not in supermiddleweight division,no more;he is too good for anyone there but if he moves up he can fight Pascal,Bute,Kovalev,Brahemer etc....,putting another big name in a good division killed about who fights for HBO and who fights for SHOWTIME obviously!!!Comment
