Technically they havent "sued" Gossen yet. They met before a CSAC arbitrator. But now they dont recognize CSAC lol
Ha... and the funny thing is, didn't realize it till Dan mentioned it, all the time he uses to try to sue Goosen is tacked onto his contract. So what was originally going to end in 2015 was extended to 2016 due to him sitting to file suit
Ward has gotten some poor advice from a poor Manager, and you really think Goossen is going to work hard to get him a fight when he's getting sued by him? Please. You signed the contract, you should honor it. What a waste.
Ward getting mad about being put on the shelf.... stop suing him then.
you really going to blame him for not getting you a fight if you keep on suing him? Why do you think the time you wasted suing him got put back onto your contract?
Ward is one of my favorite fighters, but he needs to get back in the ring before he loses one of the only fans that he has left. He's still young and although he is 'The Champ', he needs to fight 3 or 4 times a year to bring some recognition to his brand.
Is this all about the Chavez Jr fight? Because it's not easy to see what other major grievance Ward could have.
He's only fought twice since the end of the the Super Six, which Goosen got him into, and apparently that was because of his injury problems. In the two fights since, he got paid 1.4m to fight Dawson, a big improvement on the 900k he got for Froch. And then after another long layoff, he got 2m to beat Edwin Rodriguez. He's got HBO fully behind him and has even got a commentating post to boost his profile, so what can he really criticise Goosen for?
It's possible that he may be a bigger name if he was at Top Rank, and this may all be down to Arum whispering such thoughts in his ear. But that's a maybe, especially when you consider that Ward is hardly a thrill-a-minute fighter, and that most of Arum's stars seem to be fighting with him at the moment anyway.
Really sad to see one of my favorite fighters throw away his prime like this. What makes it even more puzzling is that Ward is an intelligent person, if he wasn't in boxing he'd be successful at something else. Well he's made his bed...
