Don't get me wrong, I don't want to see Wlad at the 2016 Olympics.Dumb comparison, again. You act like only ONE NBA player showed up there. Everybody in the NBA went. Both Gasol's went (Spain), Ibaka, all the great players from every nation. What does this have to do with boxing where ONE world class dude is trying to fight amateurs? And playing against Carmelo Anthony is not the same as fighting Klitschko. Anthony might wipe the floor with you and score like crazy. Klitschko is gonna mess you up physically. Imagine the chumps he's gonna fight at the beginning. What a joke. Thank god they were smart enough to put in certain rules to protect those fighters from scumbags like Klitschko.
I was replying to this:
I thought you were talking about all the athletes and not only Wlad. I mentionned Kobe, Lebron, Beckham, etc. because winning the NBA or the Champions League is more prestigious (and much harder) than winning a Gold Medal at the Olympics, but they came or wanted to come anyway. The thing is they were facing professional athletes.
Wlad would be facing amateurs and it's unacceptable.Comment

Klitschko, you're a big, goofy clown to even DREAM of beating up on those inexperienced young kids! And that goes for any other professional boxer ****** enough to consider something like this. Getting bored fighting bums? Take up the MMA and face some REAL fighters! They'll take your legs out and ground & pound that glass jaw into dust! Leave the kids alone, ***** bully!Comment

To those who say it's cheating to have pros at the Olympics, I ask why?
Almost every other sport puts their pro athletes to represent their country at an Olympic level. Why not boxing?
As long as they are adhering to the rules of Olympic boxing, why not? Why should snowboarding and basketball be allowed to send the most elite athletes on the face of the planet to represent their country but boxing has to send kids no where near their prime to fight against countries like Cuba that have athletes 28 years old in their prime who have made Amateur Boxing their pro career.Comment

I always feel like a boxing medal at the olympics is like the biggest prize for an amateur fighter and a good way to leave the amateur ranks to go pro. Then the biggest prize from there is a world title.
I do think its unfair to take the sport away from the amateurs but they'll probablt let it happen to get more popularity like they did with the head guards etc.
Wlad would definetely meet some part time cannon fodder along the way even if other pros do get sent and you have to agree with that.Comment

The issue is that you got Cuban boxer fighter in the AM but they have been doing it for years. They are still AM but with the experience of professional. What it is the difference? If they're going to implement this, at least slowly ease it in. If they did all this in one move, you'll have Ams fighting with no headgear on against the undisputed HW champion who's hungry for a gold medal.
Got that huge gap of experience and a new system they're supposedly implementing.
Maybe open it for those guys down the line, just not off the bat.
Let pros who have no world ranking and under a certain amount of pro fights come in and over the years open it up to more and more pros after the AMs of the world have acclimated to the new systemComment
