On the second attempt he DID beat Toney... but listen to the difference in Toney's voice between the two fights.
A win is a win and of course you would side toward Toney out-boxing him because it supports your opinion but what really happened was two Peter wins against a still not-shot Toney and one of them was by a very good boxing exhibition that suprised a lot of analysts at the time. Of course, it didn't impress you because we still have the image of the Klitschko's abusing and knocking out Sam Peter stuck in your head.

Pathetic response. And he achieved more too, such as being a well regarded top contender in an era of boxing when that still meant something big. In the best hw era too. He was a household name and made a fortune as a fighter.

James Toney is a joke if he fought Wlad when Wlad wasn't in his prime years he'd still get his ass knocked out...
              John Ruiz!

Samuel Peters beat the hinges off of that fat doughnut munching **** Toney, Toney so good doe that is why he sounds punch drunk...
              Great defense my ass!

              Samuel Peters >>> James Toney

Until Toney gets a better win than someone like Tony Thompson you can't say anything.

Modern athletes like Klitschko dwarf the 190-210lbs heavyweights people here seem to idolize. It wouldn't even be a competition. Many of those supposedly great heavyweight champions of yesteryear would struggle or outright lose to more superior modern athletes like Calvin Brock or Alex Leapai.

George Foreman put the "great" Joe Frazier on his ass, what? 6 times?

Guys like Frazier, Foreman, Lyle, and Norton would **** their pants if they had to face a supremely conditioning modern monster like Eliseo Castillo or DaVarryl Williamson.
The alltime greats wouldn't shet in there pants but the problem we have here on the forums is that everyone or almost all of the anti klitschko backlash has to do with weak opposition resistance... your argument is VALID when we're comparing the journeymen & the also rans of yesteryear... problem here is that they are elevated back then but similar fighters are trashed now because the brothers are destroying similar fighters past alltime greats struggled with.

Alltime greats are great for a reason because they fought great... unfortunately most of the idiots here FAIL to give the Klitschko's there due for doing just that & make up every excuse in the book that there opponents are making them look this dominant... Funny how they've been MORE dominant than past greats have been but less revered... it's illogical & a travesty...

Dude.. seriously.... WLAD HAS fought him about 13 rds in 2 fights & Lamon IS LUCKY TO EVEN WIN A HALF OF a single rd... you're a moron.

Many said Holyfield got the best of Lewis in the sequel... landing the more telling & harder shots & staggering him in the 7th rd.. Ineffective pitty pat jabs in the later rds & a makeup call got Lennox the W.... LOOK at both there faces after the fight & tell me whom got the best of whom.

Nope.. he punched himself out & couldn't catch his breath & therefore had nothing left... Brewster was getting destroyed got nearly knocked out a rd earlier but was tough & survived & got a gift for his toughness. Wlad gassed vs PURITY as well... both fighters got trounced for about 17 rds... DID NOT collectively WIN A SINGLE RD BETWEEN THEM but through the luck of there survival skills & mental toughness got 2 w's vs Klitschko to show for it.... anyone who doesn't think this is EXACTLY what transpired is fooling themselves.

This is why I say CORRIE sanders 1.5 rd destruction of Wlad is the only legitimate KLITSCHKO loss WHEN they weren't handily beating there opponent at the time of defeat.
