Nothing to do with resume and the great fighters beaten....at 38 Ali had Parkinson's and five losses, while Wlad is still beating the likes of Jean Marc Mormeck and setting compuclinch records against Povetkin.

Wlad had only been knocked out three times, but Ali had five losses and Parkinson's. Do you hear?! He had Parkinson's!! probably deserving of it too for all this 'superior to Wlad' talk.

Wlad isn't far from prime now, a testament to his work ethic and also the era being less challenging. Fighters age differently and circumstance matters. Four years in as a pro, Ali was THE champ. Wlad was just emerging as a contender and taking baby steps towards Lennox (never quite got there). If Ali doesn't get screwed out of three years, probably makes a run at Louis's 25. Ali was better, and better sooner. Wlad has been good longer by more than 38. I don't think Ali was really great anymore after Manila at 32/33.

Wlad has had as many title fights as Ali (suprising huh) and still has all of his faculties in tact along with still being active and dominant at an age when Ali wasn't even considered a legitimate punching bag having lost to Trevor Berbick by bludgeoning.

I never said Wlad was superior, that was Vitali. However, what I am saying is that he is a top ten ATG and I love the fact that it pisses so many people off because he doesn't fit your stereotypical heavyweight champ mold.

Wladimir Klitschko transformed heavyweight boxing. His performance against Leapai last night cemented this. His jab, footwork, defense and offense were all immaculate and incomparable. No style works against him.

He proved uppercuts, combos, feinting, swarming etc to be near-worthless (in the case of his opponents) and unnecessary (in the case of himself). Thus by his perfect minimalistic-seeming technique he actually shows how bad previous generations of boxers were who could win with such techniques like feinting and combos.

Wladimir is the blueprint for what strategies work (in his case) and don't work (in his opponents' case). Wladimir Klitschko is the measuring stick for champions of the past and future.

I wouldn't say its the greatness of Wladimir Klitschko, but rather the very pathetic and weak state of the HW division. Wlad is an outstanding fighter, but these circumstances have lead some to believe he's greater than he really is.
