Zaveck, Chaves and Soto Karrass are all decent wins to me. Especially considering how he beat them all. I'm not saying crown Porter and Thurman as the kings of the welterweight division right now.

But both of them are legitimate top 8 contenders right now who have already stepped up and proven themselves.

The next step is to see whether they can become stars in the sport or will they just be top contenders who will win alphabet titles here and there for the rest of their careers.

Ok so let me get this right.

Robert Guerrero, Brandon Rios beat high ranked guys in WW?

Brandon Rios was coming off a loss, really 2 losses as the first Alvarado fight was a robbery. And he still got a Cash Cow fight

Roberto Guerrero beat Andre Berto after being ranked number 5 in the WW division, not like he beat number 2-4, and he got a cash cow fight.

You can't tell me Porter and Thurman haven't been through more legit fights than Guerrro and Rios was at the time that they got their Mega fights.

Yeah I agree he's Top 10. I just couldn't remember who he'd beaten in the Top 10 but I think you're right Zaveck was still top 10 after his loss but good performance against Berto.

Karass pretty good too, coming off two good wins.

Chavez I can't really rate because Chavez hasn't fought anyone of note other than Thurman.

But yeah I agree Thurman's a solid contender at WW for sure.

I don't think Thurman has proved himself all that much though. Atleast not like Porter. He's done what he's had to do with the opposition he's faced which is always a good sign.

It's always a warning sign for me when people struggle at that level I.e Berto, Broner etc.

        Thurman's performed thus far.

Yeah it has to be fair.

3 years ago. Senchenko was a Top 5 WW. Hard to believe really.

            Porters automatically is legit.

He beat Paulie who has been ranked in the top 5 in ANY division he has ever been in. He beat Devon who has been ranked as the number 3-4 WW for 4-5 years str8.

I don't think that's a reason to not make it. Alexander/Bradley was a good match up before the fight happened. It just so happened that Alexander's lack of inside game was exposed by Timmy.

But remember Alexander struggled like hell with Kotelnik 1 fight before and HBO and a lot of fans tried to throw that under the rug.

Alexander fights with a rhythm and if you throw him off, he can't adjust. He's a product of the amateur system and never adjusted.

Thurman vs. Porter on Floyd's next PPV with the winner fighting Floyd next May. Khan needs to look real good and put his religious shidt on hold and be ready for Floyd this September or Floyd needs to move the fight to October or find someone else...but who ? Ideally, I'd like to see Floyd fight both Thurman and Porter while they still have their O but neither is quite box office ready.

                    Floyd versus Khan
                    Thurman versus Porter
Matthysee versus Garcia 2 or Matthysee versus Broner

That would be a great pay per view that would do well internationally.
