No, definitely not. Like I said Porter hasn't had to second guess himself in his last two outings because neither Alexander or Malignaggi can fight on the inside, punch or counter well enough to gain his respect. Thurman at the very least has shown that he can do two of those things, and while Thurman has shown a pretty good mid to long range game, he hasn't faced anyone with Porter's foot speed who will get inside and have the physical strength to maybe keep him there. How is any of this hard to understand for some of you?

There are fighters in their mid 30's on the pound for pound list that haven't faced every style at the elite level.

Who's Thurman beat in the Top 10?

        That's a genuine question.

How has Thurman shown he can do that?

          Who's Thurman proved himself against?

This is the thing, pertaining to Porter-Thurman, the parts of their game that are unanswered are vital in how they would fare against the elite, extremely vital and only the two of them facing one another can answer those questions. Till then both of them are unproven as far as I'm concerned.

By the way I gave Porter a very good chance at beating Alexander.

There are 3 elite fighters at 147 right now. Proven doesn't mean "I think he can beat Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao". Proven is beating contenders and working your way into the top 10.

I'm speaking from a technical stand point, neither of them are proven for me.

Kind of sad that Berto was the 3rd best welterweight at one point but was fighting dead-even with Zaveck before the awful TKO ruling. The division has improved a lot since then.
