Comments Thread For: Maidana: I Have To Attack Mayweather Early Like Broner

Marcos Maidana, who was in attendance at the StubHub Center in Carson, spoke with SHOWTIME about his major assignment next Saturday, May 3, against Floyd “Money” Mayweather live on SHOWTIME PPV (9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT), after the opening bout of the telecast.

“I’m very happy to see this crowd here cheering me on. There is no doubt this is going to be a very difficult fight against Floyd Mayweather, but I am very prepared for this fight.

He has the right mindset, but everyone who fights floyd who are known aggressive fighters tend to not be so aggressive against floyd...

AB was either too f**king ****** or too arrogant to be ready mentally for a potential (and probable) Maidana ambush. Probably a combination of the two. That ambush set the tone for that entire fight and Broner could never recover. Motherf**ker didn't even know what hit him.

Floyd will 100% be ready for that -- ESPECIALLY after watching lil' bro get wrecked. Early ambush ain't going to work in this fight.

I think Maidana's best case scenario is catch Floyd napping for a second somewhere in the second half of the fight after Floyd steadily banks rounds away...and catch him with something that hurts him. Still unlikely but to me that's what I would bet money on as far as Maidana having a shot.

He has the right mindset. Chino has to make it an ugly brawl. What I like about this is that maidana is naturally a Wildman unlike canelo who was naturally a boxer. Chino is never going to outbox Floyd so might as well make it a street fight. I'm very interested to see if maidana's awkward punches penetrate mayweather's defense.

That's how they all start off thinking ... until ... and during the fight, when they realize that they are missing more than connecting and as a consequence, getting countered to death.

            Plan B, anyone?!?!

Then you wear yourself out and that makes matters worst .... Because Floyd will really turn-on the offense when he see's you're tiring.

That's the right mindset. Throw a lot and make it a brawl, too bad after the 4th rd Mayweather is going to have his rhythm. Maidanas output is gonna decrease dramatically. Counters and straight rights are gonna make him gun shy like everyone else.
