BUT, what else can he do? Obviously Marcos ain't outboxing him. So really the only choice is to swing for the fences and hope he can land a home run. Leave everything out there and see what happens. I mean so what if it fails miserably (seriously), at least give it a shot. Trying to box with Floyd is a 12-0 or 11-1 loss on the cards.

    Bombs away, Marcos.
Exactly this,he has to just go for it

It should make for an interesting first half of the fight

He still needs a good guard and jab.

Cotto is the worst case of this IMO. People say he did so good, but he had his chances to let loose and really attack, and failed to try and do that. Instead a lot of the fight he was content with walking May to the ropes, cutting off the ring, land a jab then back out. It was horrible.

Anyone criticizing Maidana for this gameplan is contradicting who he is and why he became so good and contradicting what everyone thinks needs to be done against Mayweather. They all say it, and you get guys coming out like Guerrero and trying to out twitch Mayweather. Asinine.
Cotto won more rounds than Maidana will

Chino has to take the fight to Money. Anyone who tries to box FM is in their grave. Got to rush him and try to get in his head as a result.

Ya, and he lost the fight, and was always going to lose and did nothing about.

Let history unfold before you spew out supposed facts.

I will say this, I liked the approach to the body work. If you notice on 24/7 they were working on shoving the guard away and striking the body which is his only shot of getting them fully in. I think Robert is doing a great job getting him ready, pulling out veteran tricks from the bag. Let's hope he can use them and make the fight interesting.

Mayweather is a fighter. People get it confused because his primary objective is to box smart and take his time. However, when attacked, he responds with fury. Marcos Maidana needs to know that a dogfight with Floyd Mayweather isn't gonna work in his favor. Force Floyd to fight and have a serious fighter willing to give you a fight. Couple that with his physical attributes and you have a daunting task in front of you.

I'll be surprised if Maidana throws more than half as many.

It is not only about conditioning, it is first and foremost about not becoming tentative when you only hit air. As if you were shadow boxing, only that the shadow punches you in the mouth every time you miss.

Also, if things get ugly Floyd is experienced enough to spoil, the "hit and grab" worked for Alexander after all.

But yeah, I agree, Maidana's best and maybe only chance is to put his heart on the line and keep on throwing, no matter what.
