You can't penalize a fighter for dominating whoever they put in front of him.
Roy had a memorable moment in Montiel griffin 2..and Sweet Pea with his last second must win ko against Hurtado

True. Margarito was going to batter that boy from pillar to post. Better to fight pillow hands Baldomir instead.

is it floyds fault?? is it that his opponents dont come up with a Miguel Cotto kinda strategy when facing floyd?? is it that BOXING is all about making money now and not about making the best fights posible at the right time???

Floyd doesn't let "they" put anyone in front of him. He carefully chooses who he fights.

Seriously? Hopkins 1 or Toney are his defining fights. Sweet Pea had Chavez (should have been a win), Nelson.

I understand where you are coming from, but they are bad examples.

We cant penalize him for having to fight a certain way to win. What he will be penalized for is not taking dangerous fights. Go ahead and fighting GGG or Sergio or Pac in that certain way then. Not Ortiz, Guerrero and Maidana.

There are many other things he can and will be penalized for though. For not fighting as dangerous fighters as he possibly can he will be penalized for.
We wont penalize him for being boring and pot shotting to victory. But do it against guys people want him to fight. Not Ortiz, Guerrero, CW canelo and Maidana.
Why don't he think he can pot shot Pac, GGG, Sergio to victory? Why does he have to let Cotto fight Sergio? See the thread title is correct.

We aren't asking Floyd to take risks in the actual fight so he can get knocked out. The risk is in the choice of opponent. Fighting Ortiz, Guerrero and the guy who lost to Pacs sparring partner, Floyd will be penalized for.

In that case Floyd had his coming out party against Corrales, the Castillo fight where he had to dig deep with one arm or even as recently as Canelo where he fought a guy who outweighed him by close to 20 pounds.

He has plenty of memorable moments.

Not into long pitched out semantics battles with your ilk.. suffice to say those are probably my favorite Floyd moments.

                      The fans know...
There is no way any single fighter can really fight everyone, unless their division is slim, slim, very slim pickings. Pacquaio hasn't fought 'everyone' either. For obvious reasons, he will probably never fight Guerrero, Berto, Ortiz, Canelo, Garcia, Thurman, Porter, Matthysse, etc. It's one thing if some of you want to say, 'well he could have fought SOME better opponents.' But it's a whole other thing when you say, 'he's not willing to fight everyone.' It's such a broad phrase that isn't realistic.
