I didn't miss him the first time he retired after ducking the WW division.

Hmmm depends. His real fans will miss watching him, and watching his skill-set. The fanboys won't because they're not boxing fans. When he walks away from the sport, so will they.

I won't miss him, i dont find his antics interesting and the notion that the world of Boxing is dull without him is laughable.
Maybe it's just me but the self-made drum roll that was put into place before annoucing fights with the likes of Guerrero or Ortiz didn't do it for me.

He was never really missed the first time he "retired" because a lot of people had a feeling that he was coming back. But to be honest, I think Pacquiao will be missed more than Floyd and it's because Floyd is so much better than everyone else.

Pacquiao has his rivalries with Barrera, Morales, Marquez, his dominance from 2008-2011. Historians and casual fans always like the guy with adversity, a sense of being the underdog, and excitement. Aside from Corrales, Floyd was never an underdog and most people don't even know about his toughest fight against Burton. Floyd will definitely be remembered but it may not be as he wants to be. I don't know, time will tell.

name another fighter in boxing history that has dominated ALL his opponents. people hate floyd for two things 1. he's black 2. he's too good. if floyd was white he would be bigger than ali ever was.

            pacquiao can't even beat canelo.
            1. When in doubt. Play the race card.
            2. His boxing IS bland and boring. 1-2 combos for 12 rounds arent foty candidates.
            3. Pacquiao-Canelo... where did that come from?

Well he is a truly great fighter. But why did he have to say that? Not secure about his legacy?

I seriously doubt it. The only way he will be missed if he starts losing prizefights now or later in his career as this would cause a shift in how boxing fans would perceive him; Perhaps out of pity or respect. Then only and upon greater reflection will history and boxing fans record and appreciate the contributions and achievements he has made to this great sport.

However, right now and even as we speak; If he were to retire tomorrow with his undefeated record in tact, then his legacy would read as that of an unfriendly fan fighter, who ducked, cherry picked opponents and unlike his all-time great predecessors, one who wasn't in the least bit interested, in giving the boxing public, the fights they had demanded to see.

Floyd and Manny both will be both missed greatly because they were the two greats from this generation and both probably top 25 fighters of all time. Mayweather I think will do pretty well historical wise and many fighters for decades to come will be matched up against him. Not to mention that he will probably go down as the PPV king and how he is one of the most popular crossover stars he is a major historical persona inside and out of the ring.

Rejecting your ****** boyfriend Margaritcheato to fight an unification fight, doesn't equal ducking a whole division.
