But he's also involved in a "cold war" with HBO and Bob Arum, which robs the fans of some of the greatest potential fights out there. Not to mention missing out on the potentially even greater revenue that could be generated by making the greatest fights. You can rally around the Schaefer flag and praise him for all the money he does make, which I assume you get none of. I'm a boxing fan, so when I see the actual boxing end of the industry take a back seat to the business end (which is insanely counter-productive), I am alarmed. The core of the business we're discussing is boxing. Ultimately, when the core of the business goes to hell, so does the business, but the orchestrators usually bail out with their golden parachutes. I'd hate to see my beloved sport become a diluted pile of garbage for the sake of some greedy, self-serving "businessman" who appears to care more about lining his pockets than making truly great fights.

Yes HBO made the decision to kicked them off. He was behind it. By behind it I mean he supported. He told the ****s over at HBO I CAN get you this fight and that fight.
