oscar is the president of goldenboy, and he has the majority of shares, but he doesn't run the company.

i'm not sure how much autonomy he has, if he can fire shaeffer, etc. i tend to doubt that he can, or that he would. he has no business trying to run that company himself. schaeffer is a former banker, and really knows money, finance, and business.

I think we hear a lot more about this situation after the Floyd/Maidana fight.
Oscar founded the company and has the most capitol invested.
Shaefer has a stake but not enough to force anyone's hand. If he doesn't fall in line then he can be replaced. Let him go to TMT and see how that works out for him with that stable of nobodies.
If your a boxing fan you should be rooting for an Oscar/Arum sitdown to end the cold war. Even if your a hardcore Floyd fan. Floyd can fight Tim Bradley and Pacquio, two guys that are better than anything GBP can throw at him in the next year and half. We can see a host of other big fights as well.

Oscar and Arum should take advantage of the fanboy craze and put together a series of fights pitting the best of GB vs the best of TR in a competitive series with some bogus new belt and bonus KO purses awarded.

Co-promote it and put the lower tier fights on ESPN (Rigo v Santa Cruz, Loma v TBA Assassin) and split up the bigger matchups on HBO and SHO

Make no mistake, they will both hate this.
I get the feeling it might be too late for that.

the only problem is that haymond wants none of arum either and he will take his fighters with shaefer...

When are people gonna realize Oscar has as much influence over GBP moves as Uncle Ben does with Uncle Ben's rice?

I see Haymon and Schaeffer starting a promotional company. If that happens GBP gets robbed in clear daylight of most of its prime fighters. Haymon wins again.

If De La Hoya has majority of the shares then he can he can call a general meeting of shareowners and dismiss the CEO.

Something is going to give here really soon. I've heard rumors Schaefer was going to leave GBP after Mayweather/Maidana and promote all the fighters Al Haymon has been signing.
