Had something to do with Paulie's fight plan, or lack of focus. Complete lack of power well documented, but he either chose to or couldn't stop himself from mixing it up inside.

He fought the less experienced fighter's fight, and either was a little shell shocked or lost a bit off his reflexes because that leaping left hook crushed him.

I Had a bad gut feeling about this fight for paulie as soon as I heard it got made. Porter was so much stronger than paulie even in the clinches you could just see porter rag dolling paulie and the strength advantage he had over him

As I mentioned in a previous post Malignaggi made it very easy for Porter by continuously pulling back with his head up in the air. In addition he couldn't keep Porter honest because whenever Shawn collapsed all Paulie would do was throw that plaintive jab of his falling backwards fully erect. Normally Paulie can get away with this fundamental flaw because he has faster feet but that wasn't the case here. Factor in the severe strength and power advantages held by Porter and you have your classic demolition job.

I think there may be more opponents of Porter in the future that will suffer from the same "shocked" reaction when they realize just how far in their kitchen he likes to get. Many boxers are still stuck in a traditional "box." They rarely try to control real estate and focus on grounded chess moves. Fighters like Porter, Pacquiao and Kovalev are extremely effective because of their ability to come forward at speed as they punch their way in with authority. They rush their opponents into off balance positions where they can force errors and exploit easy openings.

I think Shawn made a decision to just go after him. He knows Paulie has zero power, so he was going to walk right through him and blitz him and make it a short night.

          And he did.

The term styles make fights pretty much answers every question at or near the top. Only a select few special fighters can overcome their kryptonite style.

Pretty much he came in with no respect to Paulie pinching power and decide to leave early

If Paulie could have pinched him that probably would have been more effective than what he did.

                  This.

Porter is a talented and powerful young fighter. Paulie wasn't offering anything to keep Porter off him.

Paulie's mouth wrote a check that his azz couldn't cash. He called Porter average & was talking like Porter was so inexperienced that he would be flabbergasted by Professor Malinaggi wily veteran tactics. Porter had something to prove not only to Paulie but himself. Paulie's lack of power, strength, low hands and diminished footspeed were a perfect recipe for a super charged up Porter to exploit. Paulie had NOTHING to keep Porter honest and he was done after the 2nd round. He didn't look all there in his corner physically and mentally. He got absolutely blitzkrieged!!!!!

                      Big time beat down

Paulie didn't have power to keep Porter off of him, and Porter had foot speed to defeat Paulies usual defensive maneuvers, Paulie didn't looked focused in the stare down, and should quit boxing for his health..at this point..that was a hell of a beat down Porter put on Malinaggi..
