Why do you think Shawn Porter beat Paulie Malignaggi so easy?

People keep talking about Porter's strength, but it was his speed along with Paulie's diminished reflexes and speed that made it easy. Paulie has had that bad habit of stepping straight back out of range with his right hand BELOW his chin for years. But Porter had the foot speed to close the distance enough to make him pay. Those Joe Frazier like looping left hooks and step in jabs set up the damage. His strength just finished the job.

Plus, he mixed it up and was unpredictable. Laying back at times, then attacking at others.

He made Paulie fight his fight. But that won't work against guys with more pop than the soft punching Paulie. Even if the end result was impressive, Porter was sloppy and open for punches. They do not stay at the top fighting like that.

He'd give Keith Thurman serious problems, and would be favored to win hands down IMO. Thurman's D is leaky, and he would have some problems dealing with Porter inside.
lmfao what real fighter wouldent lmfao.

people act liek thurman is a beast, he just punches hard.

karass was taking his ass all night but karass is worned, let a young fresh dude who can **** see thurman he will eat him up alive lol.

I always laugh at people who have no real boxing knowledge and believe what they are fed.

Combination of the two bolded, imo.

Porter definitely did what he was supposed to and bullied the **** out of poor Paulie and actually (to me at least) is looking more and more fluid in his movements as he goes along. Good on him. I wanna' see him and Thurman get it on.

Props to Paulie on a well fought career. Considering his brittle hands, he's done very well and has secured his exit from the ring in style by giving excellent commentary with the Showtime broadcast crew. If he decides to fight on, well good on that too.

Malignaggis taken a lot of punishment throughout his career, especially in the fights he lost. that usually makes you age quicker, it eventually catches up with you.. porter also had a good gameplan.. realized paulie was open for those hooks because when he backs up out of range he just thinks about his next jab and relaxes his defense - which creates an opening.. also paulie got no power so porter was willing to take a lot of risks to land

so it was a combo of age, cumilative punishment and good gameplan by porter.. he said he wanted to fight paulie for years and its probably because they realized the style match up would be easy to deal with for porters style..
