By the way, I'm not in favor of this fight. This is a freak show if it did happen.

And there would have to a big weight discrepancy in the contract if it happen. I.E. the weight limit for Hopkins being 165 for example, while Floyd is allowed to come in at whatever he feels like above 147. Theoretically, all weight division rules would have to go out of the window on this one, with Hopkins coming in as a Super-middleweight (165) while Floyd comes in as a Jr. Middleweight (148 to 152). Theoretically , while Floyd would be at a "Weight disadvantage" in nominal terms, he would actually be at an advantage as he would come into the ring at a comfortable weight, being as healthy as he can possibly while the old man would have to cut weight to levels he hasn't been at in half a decade (last time he fought at 170 was a few years ago when he fought Winky Wright).

Hopkins is incorrect when it comes to this because he doesnt even realise it would NOT be a "50-50" age vs record promotion because by that time, hopkins would be 51.

I agree with this. But this is assuming that Hopkins doesn't come into the ring as a sick fighter the way Delahoya did Vs Steve Forbes and Pacquiao. Going back down to 147 took something out of him.

There is no way that Floyd can land his usual punches. His "pull counter" would never work on a 6' foot Hopkins who himself moves around and slips punches (He is no Tall but stationary Corrales). Floyd would have to reach and reach to land punches. Hopkins himself wouldn't land much but he could control the rounds with "Ring Generalship" by at least looking like he isn't reaching and swinging for the fences (like he would if he fought 6'6 Klitschko)

Too bad hopkins can't make a cash out fight with ward. That would be more realistic than Mayweather imo.

Let's say he calls out both Ward and Kov...then what? They have the same chance of happening as a Floyd fight...0.

Hopkins needs to let it go. Mayweather walks around at 150 and fights bigger guys as it is. He should focus on Stevenson or maybe call out Ward. Either way, Hopkins has other options available.

This whole Mayweather\Hopkins thing is nothing more than a publicity stunt -- GBP already spilled the beans that they're targeting Stevenson as the last opponent three months ago.

Hopkins vs Stevenson is in play and GBP\Haymon\B-Hop are already on-board.

Let's say Miguel Cotto crushes Sergio Martinez for the lineal Middleweight championship, then I could see Mayweather vs. Cotto 2 in September if Miguel thinks he has enough time to train. Hopkins whoops on Stevenson and then in May 2015, I could see Mayweather vs. Hopkins for the Lineal MW Strap. I would buy the fight, Benard could easily make 160lbs, don't let him fool you. He said this after he gave Karo Murat a beatdown.
