Last nights episode was good, but it could have been SOOOO much better.

I love how they showed us Maidana vs Broner.

I think they should've followed up with that. Talk about where Broner is now. How Floyd put out a vote between Khan and Maidana. How that W changed Maidana's life. Him winning the athlete of the year award in Argentina over Messi. And they did do some of that too, I wish I saw more.

But it pretty good. The kids sparring was real fun.

That idea may show up in subsequent episodes.

Gonna watch it later...not expecting much. Do 24/7, All Access with the same people and you kind of expect what's going to happen.
The opponents are what really make the episodes

He always talks about he cant overlook an opponent ect ect... but I dont think his mental game is as sharp as it could be for this fight.
I do think people are really down on Maidana and it's unfair.

But it has more to do with people hating Floyd, so they'll hate on any opponent he picks.

I mean Maidana has a title, and is coming off three decent/solid wins at the weight......and is a cherry picked bum to some of these clowns on here.

I do feel Floyd will beat Maidana handily by decision. But I think Maidana will do better then Guerrero or Canelo did.

Canelo tried to box Floyd at times, which is why he only won maybe 1 round or none at all. And Guerrero actually smothered his own attack against Floyd it seemed, tried to "box" at times, and won 2 rounds.

Everyone talks about speed and a guy who can match Floyd's speed being what could trouble him......BUT.....the closest Floyd has come to losing was Castillo. Someone who didn't give one inch away, out worked Floyd, and didn't let him off the ropes. Castillo was pretty good though, better then Maidana IMO, but still with Maidana's power and he's a bit awkward when he throws certain punches.....it could be interesting.

If he can successfully keep Floyd on the ropes and not let Floyd work, he can win 3-4 rounds.

and to me what makes him p4p best is his consistency. If that starts to erode..that will be the beginning of the end for Floyd.

People like you say this EVERY fight. And it's always 'something seems different.' Or better yet, 'I have a feeling about this fight.' And each time, you're sadly disappointed.

I don't think Maidana comes close to a prime Castillo but he won't be facing a prime Floyd either. This could end up being a long night for an aging fighter, especially since in spite of whatever he says, it'll be hard for Floyd to get up for him coming off a career high payday against someone who might turn out to be a legacy-sealing win.

Floyd is aging but I haven't seen a decline in his speed, reflexes, or overall ability since Ortiz. I saw a bit of a decline from the Mosley and Ortiz fights, but not since 2011. If anything, he looked better in 2013 then he did in 2011-2012.

But if Maidana can successfully force him to the ropes, like Cotto did, and not let Floyd get off on those counters from the ropes, he can win 4 rounds.

Cotto won 3 rounds IMO trapping him on the ropes for much of the fight....but Floyd also out fought Cotto on the ropes several times and countered him from there a ton.

I agree. Broner trained hard and took Maidana seriously. He just didn't have the necessary skills to get the job done.

Really? I've seen decline in speed and reflexes. And I wonder what he'll look like if he's forced to fight at a quicker pace than usual, which is what Cotto made him do. Except Cotto doesn't quite have great stamina.
