Marquez predicting a Canelo ko over Lara in a recent Golpe a Golpe episode. Kind of surprising he would say anything positive about Canelo since he's always looked down on his career. It's in Spanish, but basically he stated how speed was the key in this matchup that if Lara couldn't maintain the distance with hand speed and use his feet movement properly he won't be able to maintain Canelo's onslaught.

They referenced the Angulo matchup where Lara was down twice ,while they dismissed any sort of triangle theory beforehand, Marquez regards Canelo as a "smarter" pressure fighter than Angulo who has much faster hands and is far more accurate.The first couple of rounds would favor Lara but ultimately Marquez believes the combination punching and accuracy of Canelo will be too much and the Cuban runs the risk of a ko.

Eh what you said isn't completely accurate I like much better what they said they spoke the truth, but they only talked about Lara's deficiencies that Lara has to show up in the best condition ever to resist Canelo and never gas and so on they didn't mention how Canelo gasses especially if he is missing punches. He is no relentless machine by no means.

To be fair to Lara, Floyd tends to go back to the ropes almost by choice because he knows the other dude's eyes are going to light up when they finally get him there and they will start to get gutsy (as opposed to staying disciplined when Floyd has space), then when they can't do anything to him on the ropes which is their goal he essentially has their soul in his hands.

Lara will 100% be trying to avoid that situation, but it is a ring and cutting off the ring is not an extra hard concept to get.

Yeah and he was looking for counter opportunites on the ropes against Angulo as well. In particular that left uppercut was working for him. Burned him in the 4th though.
