Marquez predicting a Canelo ko over Lara in a recent Golpe a Golpe episode. Kind of surprising he would say anything positive about Canelo since he's always looked down on his career. It's in Spanish, but basically he stated how speed was the key in this matchup that if Lara couldn't maintain the distance with hand speed and use his feet movement properly he won't be able to maintain Canelo's onslaught.

They referenced the Angulo matchup where Lara was down twice ,while they dismissed any sort of triangle theory beforehand, Marquez regards Canelo as a "smarter" pressure fighter than Angulo who has much faster hands and is far more accurate.The first couple of rounds would favor Lara but ultimately Marquez believes the combination punching and accuracy of Canelo will be too much and the Cuban runs the risk of a ko.

is it possible? yes, but canelo isnt as good at stalking and cutting the ring off as angulo. he probably will have more power, but lara is hard to hit.

lara will take him to school, not saying canelo isnt good. cuz he will still be #2 in the division and beat any1 else imo

Lara is a lot easier to hit and clumsy compared to Floyd. But canelo is not going to KO him he doesn't pressure like Angulo does

Marquez never look down on Canelo it is Canelo that gets butthurt when told the truth about the way he got his 154 belt. Like they say the truth hurts

JMM I think is right if Lara can not maintain his distance he will have issues, Canelo is not a pressure guy though he is a boxer but he is an offensive minded guy who likes to fight at a measured pace.

The fight really hinges on can Lara maintain distance, if he can he wins if he can't he is in a world of trouble.

Well how is Canelo going to fight Lara? Canelo is a boxer/puncher that fights at a measured pace. That plays into Lara's favor. Can he apply pressure and close distance? If he can it may be a long night for Lara who has no inside game to speak of.

yeah, Canelo is not a pressure fighter, it showed in the Floyd fight, when he just stood there and tried to time his punches on floyd.

This fight will look similar to the Canelo Trout fight, it will be close and than Lara and his fans will cry robbery if it goes to Nelo.

That's why Marquez emphasized distance and movement as a key in this matchup. Lara basically has no inside game so if Canelo is able to get inside without sustaining punishment he'll be able to hurt Lara. I mean he got caugth with his hands down against Lara. It's a matter of can Canelo apply smart pressure consistently and if he can it'll be a bad night for Lara.

Now while Canelo is not a pressure guy, I certainly think he is better coming forward on the front foot as opposed to fighting off the back foot.

The fight is really simple because there is no chance of Lara coming forward to push Canelo back, which is something Floyd mixed in and gave him huge issues.
