Comments Thread For: Arum Pleads For Boycott, To Make Mayweather-Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao winning a decisive victory over Timothy Bradley immediately sparked talks of the long talked about showdown with the sports pound for pound king Floyd “Money” Mayweather. As reported by BoxingScene, earlier this week Top Rank CEO Bob Arum took shots at the MGM Grand for heavily advertising Mayweather’s upcoming May 3rd fight against Marcos Maidana and the matchup as a whole.

On Saturday night during the Pacquiao-Bradley post fight press conference he continued to bash both once again.

      Free publicity

Arum is just giving the Mayweather fight free publicity. He's so worried about what's going on with the other promotional company when he should've been talking more about the Cotto vs Martinez fight.

Haha it's hilarious to listen to 82 year old Bob Arum.

Says HBO is only putting on competitive fights and fights the fans want to see. Gets called out on Provodnikov/Algieri fight, and says, write about how bad the Mayweather fight is. Hahahahaha

Good ole uncle Bob. Wish he stepped aside and just let his stepson run things.

It's no longer interesting to me, but it's possible this is exactly what Floyd wanted. Manny has a style that ages terribly and at this stage Floyd would probably clown him.

Showtime have been putting on more stacked cards than HBO in general.

Next weeks is pretty good. Light heavyweight unification Hopkins v Shumenov, IBF WW title for Porter v Malignaggi and the WBO middleweight belt for Quillin v Kocency.

The two Showtime cards in December blew anything HBO did all year, out of the water.

You're right. By talking about Mayweather he's just giving unnecessary publicity to his fight.
He should be talking about New York, and the Cotto/Martinez fight. It's one of 3 possibly summer blockbusters we have this year, non having to do with Pac or Mayweather.

So Arum still promotes Mayweather, huh? He talked about him ALL weekend and he's still going.

I wonder how long it takes the cut from last night's fight to heal?
