Not a fabrication, just an educated guess. He signed on to Top Rank and fought on a Pacquiao undercard. And then fought Pacquiao next. Here's what Arum said prior to signing Bradley:

Tim Bradley is an excellent fighter, and he's a very articulate, clean-living young man. We would do a full publicity blitz on Tim Bradley to make him known to the public. We would not do what's been done with him."

Of course, one thing Timothy Bradley's signature on a Top Rank promotional contract means to boxing is the potential for a showdown with Manny Pacquiao. Arum addresses this fight's potential.

"Obviously, then, that would be our goal to build him. To build his name recognition so that we could make a fight happen between Tim Bradley and Manny Pacquiao."

If all goes right, Arum believes a Bradley-Pacquiao fight could happen in November of this year or early 2012, but heavy promotion would have to be done to build Bradley's name.

Perhaps you should state is as a "guess" instead of trying to pass it off as fact.

The fact is, he wasn't the first choice to face Pacquaio. No need to guess.

The fact is, he fought Pacquiao next. Just as was discussed before he even signed.

"So why aren't you fighting Khan?"

"Well what If I lose? If I lose then I'm out the sweepstakes for Pacquaio"

I don't think any more needs to be said here.

Another thing that people forget is that one of the conditions of Bradley-Alexander was that they both were guaranteed a $1m purse in their next fight.

Bradley alluded to that in that infamous "What if I lose?" interview. He basically said why fight a Khan for $2m+ when I can fight any bum for a million dollars. He wasn't going to fight Khan whether he was with Shaw or with Top Rank. The fight was too risky for him.

If that isn't a duck, I don't know what is.

lmao.. you american fans are jokers trying to justify bradley ducking khan..

that duck is the most obvious one i ever seen in all my 20 years of watching boxing because bradley admitted that he was ducking khan.. the guy came out on some video and said that he cant fight khan cos if he gets beat then his future paydays are over...

you guys are trolls with your revisionist history trying to justify that s***** and pretend like it didnt happen.. bradley is a certified ducker, there aint even an argument to made against it because he admitted he was ducking khan..

a guy admits he's ducking another guy and you still try to make excuses for him... LMAO..

Hindsight. That doesn't mean he signed a two fight deal to fight Casamayor and Pacquaio. That's a complete lie.

He signed a multi-fight deal with Top Rank - yes obviously the Pacquiao fight is a possibility for anyone signing with TR but it was never guaranteed in his second fight. Enough of the fabrications.

Please, this topic has been discussed to death already.

Totally depends on what you mean by "ducking". It's easy to point to Bradley's subsequent big money fights with Pacquiao and Marquez to justify that move NOW, but at the time there was zero guarantee that he would get these fights, and he rejected a more than fair (more like generous) offer from team Khan.

So yeah, a strong case can be made that he did duck Khan.

Did he duck him? YES, 100%; he ducked him to go after a payday. It ended up working out great for him though. (Disclaimer: As a fan I never agree with guys passing up good fights to chase a payday) I don't know if he would have lost but he ended up making the same $1.3 million anyway to fight a much easier fight in Casamayor, that lead him to the Pac fight where he made $5 million, prob another million plus against Ruslan, $4.1 million against Marquez, and now $6 million plus PPV upside in the upcoming fight. I don't like that he took the money rather than fighting for legacy but Bradley did quite a nice job of making money for a guy with such a small fanbase.
