To think Canelo will win because of his status makes you sound pretty naive and shows how grossly overrated Canelo is round' here.
Call it naive, there's way too much money to be had for Golden Boy past Lara to allow him to lose this fight. Whether that's over-rated, naive on my behalf, whatever. That's the business.

Possibly there is a freak chance Lara wins this fight. But that's it, a freak chance. Because of the nature of the politics. And t would be naive of you not to take all this into consideration.

I would just say it is a good idea for Lara to bring his bad intentions to that fight, he might get a fair shake or he might not but it is a good idea for him to try and use his own two judges rather than depending on the three at ringside, which no matter what is kind of dicey even under the best and clearest of situations.

      • Golden Boy wants everyone to buy into this is a tough fight, and it's a huge risk for Canelo. Yeah, if they were fighting in my back yard for free tha would be the case.

But they're not, they're playing with their latest toy. Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. And there will be a few Lara's during his career that he defeats...

        • Canelo by 9th round TKO.
Lara won't be able to handle the pressure or power.

You sound exactly like my family members who claim everything is already rigged and planned to perfection . "It's all a business there's just no way they'll let (insert star fighter) lose think of all the money they'll lose".

That part of his career is over. Golden Boy built his "star" persona from here on out it's up to him to deliver inside the ring.

It's not "rigged" it's controlled. You can't rig to grown men beating the **** out of each other. Basically what I'm saying is Lara is going into the fight the loser, and he will have to basically defy the odds to change that come July.

Wait so your saying Lara isn't capable of beating Canelo? That because GB feels he's inferior only then did they agree to this fight knowing Canelo will win based on his skills?

Lara needs to bring the bad intentions I agree, but not as bad as you might think. Lara will win this UD. It' not a tough prediction imo.
Neutral ringside judges would be nice.

I'm saying Golden Boy likes the idea that Lara is the feared boogeyman and they can sell the fight to us as a very tough fight. And on paper it would appear so.

What I am also saying is that Golden Boy is completely confident that Canelo will come out victorious. They have no financial backing in Lara, they were goin to feed him to Fox Sports 1 before Canelo demanded to fight him.

Golden Boy will do everything in their power to make sure this goes according to plan.

Don't forget, this is Canelo's world. Lara is just a little prop in Canelo's world.

Lara would have to hand Canelo his ass, and Buster Douglas him to win this fight.

And suppose he does win, then what? business just took a huge hit over at Golden Boy.

It's not like Lara is next to emerge as their golden boy, he's 30 years old and has no star value. He fought Paul Williams and dominated him and nobody outside of hardcore fans gives a flying ****.

That's what I'm trying to tell you.

I don't agree but I certainly acknowledge there is that possibility because Canelo is a boxer first and foremost, and that could play right into Lara's hands.

Neutral judges would certainly be nice, as I do want to see the best man win regardless of what prediction I make.
