No he would have been thrown in jail or never been able to fight again. He was never convicted in a court of law they didn't have enough evidence.

He was suspended because the gauze pads he had under his wraps are against the rules. There's a giant chasm of difference between that and what they tried to say he had done.

They suspended him because they caught him cheating. They just couldn't prove he did it previously. So people here are suggesting the first time he cheated he got caught instead of him finally getting caught for what he has been doing awhile?

People are suggesting that several experienced professional trainers (including Emanuel Steward TWICE) and commissioners managed to miss this for several years.

There's no proof that he cheated in any other fight. But its hilarious how people defend him to the death and think the whole Mosley incident was a conspiracy against him.

Cotto got his fucking ass kicked by Margarito fair and square
the "plaster" crap was just retroactive bullshit
he and his fans used the fallout from the Mosley debacle as an excuse
it was a convenient way to retcon the defeat
hell, even Cintron piggybacked the Mosley controversy for himself

Funny thing is Emanuel Steward never went to bat for Cintron on that issue even though he trained him twice against Margarito.

Because Cintron, unlike Cotto, was no longer a valuable commodity to him or HBO. And he probably knows damn well that he watched Margarito's hands being wrapped himself and there was nothing shady going on.

I just love how they're not necessarily from the Cotto fight. Decided to take someone's wraps? Or did he keep the ones he sparred with?

The only thing I'm saying is that there is no proof whatsoever that he cheated in the Cotto fight. Obviously there is reason to speculate and question the wraps in that fight, but there is no real evidence he had loaded wraps during that fight. I would imagine that a guy with bricks in his hands would do more damage to Cotto's face when he's busted up so easily.

That's more incompetence on the CSA than a lack of evidence. That's attempted assault. He didn't even get his check held. Gross incompetence.
