Funny thing is... margo only won a welterweight tittle... after he got caught his power decreased dramatically and also for being a big guy he could not even win a tittle at light middleweight... is common sense, he loaded them wraps many times.

I just find it impossible to believe that he could get away with using wraps against Cottto. Nevada commission is the big leagues of boxing it's just hard to imagine he was able to get away with that and still parade around with his wraps after the fight with nothing to hide. Obviously there are plenty of reasons to speculate and question wether he had loaded wraps but the fact remains there is no evidence of him using for that fight only speculation.

He was a one-eyed dead man in the rematch with Cotto. That fight should be taken as seriously as the Hopkins-Jones rematch.

There was a study done on the plaster issue by a boxing magazine in the 1960s to address the myth of Jack Dempsey having used plaster in his wraps for the Jess Willard beatdown.

The conclusion was that if anyone was dumb enough to use plaster of paris in their hand wraps or gloves, all they would do is break every bone in their own hands.

Boxing Illustrated conducted an experiment to test whether it was possible to use plaster of paris successfully under fighting conditions. The results were reported in the May 1964 issue of BI, pp 20-24, 66. Hugh Benbow and Perry Payne (manager and trainer of Cleveland Williams) used plaster of paris on Cleveland's hands and reenacted what Kearns said occurred in Dempsey's dressing room. After 35 minutes of toasting to reenact the 114-degree heat of Toledo that day, Cleveland Williams hit the heavy bag five times. Benbow examined the wraps and found that the plaster had cracked and crumbled. "This stuff." said Cleve, "wouldn't do anybody any good."

The Boxing Illustrated test proved beyond a reasonable doubt that the plaster of paris would not have held up after the first punch, it would have crumbled and left chunks in his mitts and every punch thereafter would have been quite painful and there is little doubt he would have broken his hands. The inventor of the product issued a statement as to the impossibility of using plaster of paris without breaking all the bones in the hands.

Were Jack Dempsey's gloves loaded in his historic bout against Jess Willard? You Decide!
There's simply no way Margarito had 'plaster' in his gloves. It's impossible.

If you need more evidence, listen to this short interview with Doug Fischer:

Anyone who still touts the 'plaster' story does so because they hate Margarito. There is no evidence to support it whatsoever.

It was proved that he tried to use illegal wrapping against mosley. It should have been enough to never let him fight again. It sad cause i really liked his mentality, his way of fighting and never give up attitude.

Cotto just went in there with a **** game plan. He did tweaks and it worked in the rematch for as long as it lasted.

How many fights he did it in is a moot point. Once you're caught doing something like that you deserve to have your entire career marginalized. Especially when you're a fighterr known for looking mediocre but somehow "out-damaging" your opponents... Hmmm...

Instead of getting thrown in jail he laid low, came back and made a coupe huge paydays. What's there to feel sorry for? You wouldn't get caught tampering with someone's brakes in a race and be invited back a year later. Boxing has very low standards for stuff like this.
