lara is one of the best pure boxers today. if lara beats canelo which i expect to happen, itd be impressive if a 38 y/o floyd beats lara. i think of course floyd beats lara but we will find out just how good lara is when he fights canelo

u can nitpick, break down and "discredit" a win on anyones resume..... bottom line is lara is an elite fighter. it doesnt take much looking into to figure that one out

durant at least played against the best of his era: bryant, james, duncan etc...floyd played against the best of the d-league so perhaps he's the best d-league boxer ever? maybe one day he will make it to the big leagues...

Basketball is a totally different sport and the case I am making about durant is that he doesn't have a title right now and . Floyd is in the same league as Kobe, Lebron and Jordan. Cmon man D league....lol

There haven't been many - but there is the one blemish on Mayweather's career (which is the same for about all in the modern era - post 1980) which is that the best don't fight each other (belt holders don't fight) nor fight often enough. The result is that few fighters clear out there division.

Sports has upsets; and in boxing, as in other sports; style makes the fight. Say the Green Bay Packers didn't play the Jets in Super Bowl III. We all *know* that Green Bay would have won. Right? How about a few years ago between the Giants and Patriots? How could an average Giant team beat an undefeated Patriot team? Same in boxing.

As far as untouched fighters - you're right - that's rare and wonderful and shows that Mayweather is a phenomenal fighter.

I don't believe that's the problem, that the best don't fight each other. It's not really that. The problem with this era is that boxing is MUCH LESS popular than it was in the past. So as a result, much less elite fighters are being produced, competition is much weaker, trainers aren't half as good, etc. It's simple mathematics.

well if basketball had 4 titles and a bunch of weight divisions durant would have a bunch of titles and wouldn't have to play the spurs or the heat just like floyd doesn't have to fight pac, bradley, martinez, etc...would you call durant the best if he never beat the spurs or heat? that's what floyd is doing.

Anyone with half a brain and some level of objectivity respects his skills and achievements. Anyone with a brain and some level of objectivity would also admit he could have done more, and will criticize both him and manny (and arum) for not doing more to make the fight happen.
