He has fought fighters such as Prime Oscar, Cotto, Castillo, Corrales, Marquez, Canelo and now Maidana. Its hard to like his personality but his resume speaks for itself and Of course he has ducked many fighters but that doesn't mean his past resume goes to garbage. I am pretty sure to be able to become a top P4P fighter in the world. You have to face top legit fighters . How many times have you seen him get knocked down and being a boxer myself it is extremely hard to do what he does which is to outsmart, outskill and protect yourself the whole 36 minutes. The ring is a small place. We should respect a fighter especially If he is undefeated.

It's not disrespecting Mayweather to say that he isn't the GOAT (or even TOP 10 of all-time). Modern boxing has been around for over 100 years and there have been a lot of great fighters over those years.

Would it be disrespecting Kevin Durant to say that he might not be in the TOP 10 of all time in basketball? No. He's a great player but they've been a lot of other great players. Same with Mayweather. He's great and a first ballot HOF but people like to convince themselves (and then insist to the rest of the world) that he's something like we've never seen and never will see again.

the fighters are there at 147 and 154 to surpass a lot of these guys like duran (thurman, lara, pac, bradley) just would have to take the fights....or at least take 2 out of the 4. (bradley pac or thurman lara) gets him right up there..........
Why does he need to fight Lara to increase his resume?? What is Laras best win and what makes him so great??? and Thurman???lol why???

no disrespect but tell me one fighter that has never been knocked down and people are in shock when they see him get a bloody nose ( cotto fight).Durant is a young player and he hasn't won a championship so that point is irrelevant.

heck, i say for sure duran > pac and mayweather
              I concur.

His skills and superlative ringmanship and his defense CAN be one of the very very best. Unquestionably, the best defender in his era. I am a big fan of that.

But if anything that is questionable is his HEART in who he has fought and too-mercenarian and too-profit oriented boxer that is doing a disservice to the sport of pugilism/boxing.

I wish there are really ways to confirm his superlative boxing skills with other fighters and the timing of it. With Ali for example, he is to me the greatest of them all but besting all of the fighters in his era and unquestionably being on top of them all.

lara is one of the best pure boxers today. if lara beats canelo which i expect to happen, itd be impressive if a 38 y/o floyd beats lara. i think of course floyd beats lara but we will find out just how good lara is when he fights canelo

u can nitpick, break down and "discredit" a win on anyones resume..... bottom line is lara is an elite fighter. it doesnt take much looking into to figure that one out

Lara had trouble with Angulo and Canelo is the favorite going into the fight. Lara needs to prove himself If he beats Canelo then he will most likely fight Mayweather but thats a tough fight for lara. I personally think canelo will be too much for him.

You have valid points but he still beat the top names in boxing. who should he fight. Thurman and Lara will both get outboxed for 12 rounds. Thurman is a puncher and Floyd has fought punchers after punchers and he has outboxed all of them for 12 rounds. He has fought a boxer in zab and Prime Oscar and we saw the results. Only name in boxing he needs to fight is Manny, which will solidify his place in boxing history.
