I give Canelo props for taking this very risky fight. In fact, I give him a lot of credit for several things, not all of them relating to boxing. Even his joking when Landy appeared at his post-fight presser was good. The kid is a real star. We can only imagine what his career would've turned into had he beat Mayweather.

With all the cherry-picking and pervasive "career first" attitude in boxing nowadays, it's refreshing to see a guy like Alvarez take on a real threat. I expect this to be a tough contest for both fighters. May the best man win.

no I understand how some fighters get special treatment,how if rounds are close they will probably go to the favorite fighter,but that doesn't mean the fight shouldn't be made,if lara indeed does beat canelo but canelo gets decision,lara's stock rises while canelos goes down,fans aren't dumb like you think,but fight should be made,if lara can dominate canelo with ease and he should since you all think canelo is trash,then lara will get the decision,heck why not even ko him? Canelo ruined his career by fighting Floyd too early.

A lost with Mayweather is a honor today. MAyweather seems to be from another galaxy. I don't think Canelo has any diminish in his career due to this lost. What really can be a diminish is if someone like Lara win the fight or if the judges make a bad judgment in canelo favor. But I honestly think he has the tools to win but for me Lara is my favorite. Is a 50-50 fight.

Canelo won that fight,it was close but he won, cant always win by large margins, so every fighter who wins close fights is bad? Cotto had close fights with mosley and clottey,lara had close fights with molina and angulo,, people just come up with excuses when they hate,, i can picture their faces whenever canelo wins lol

Whenever there is a close fight the judges will go to Canelo but I guess that such is life, so Lara has to win in a convincing way to get the triumph

come on icha. For you a good post should be in favor of your favorite fighter. You must learn about diversity of opinions. I just want a fair treatment to Lara but if your guy win I can recognize your fighter is better. But I only was asked for Lara's shot because I believe he is a better adversary than Angulo, Shane Mosley today, and if he won Trout why Trout had the opportunity and LAra don't etc. Also I want for Lara the same rest than Canelo had and good judges for the bout.
Fairness means equal opportunities to both fighters and the best should win. But some post of Canelo's fans (im not sure about you) like to say that Canelo is the chosen one and whoever fight with him should accept any condition because he is like a prima donna. I don't accept this idea and want fair treatment. After that I'll respect Canelo if he wins, but with fair rules to both fighters

to be honest , canelo could be making this fight in texas if they wanted to take advantage, but they will fight in vegas and lara will be pulled out of the ishe smith fight, that unless haymon says something else, also weigth shouldnt be a problem since they offered lara a contracted weight of 154lb, and im sure there will be fees otherwise, they could have offered lara a catchweight fight but they didnt, so lets just hope we can enjoy a great fight...
