Chavez Jr is actually a very good fighter

He can box, has movement and balls. He just needs a little bit more dedication to his craft.

    Anyone else thinks Chavez's good.

I believe Chavez and Martinez both beat GGG. So yeah, I think he's good...

I think he's better then given credit for. A lot of it is backlash from his lack of dedication.

His game IMO is to go forward and wear guys down. He doesn't do that at times because he knows his stamina isn't on par. He would be breaking down a lot of top talent if he trained like a real pro.

a dedicated chavez is very good and dangerous and would give most guys (apart from ward) a tough fight. he's got a lot of natural gifts including that incredible chin but he doesn't seem to have the right attitude/motivation

Chavez Jr has the physique and natural tools to be a very good fighter, unfortunately right now, he does not show any signs of being a very good fighter.

Chavez jr (on a good day), is the embodiment of the proud Mexican fighter. Heart, stamina, chin, power. He was the rising star I chose between the 2 choices of him or Canelo. Unfortunately Daddy's son could not dedicate himself to his craft and as a result, he's been a letdown.

I mean even in defeat at the hands of Martinez, he left his mark on that fight. I shudder to think what he could have been if he wasn't such a spoil glutton.

I don't know. All he has proven so far is that he can beat fringe contenders (Zbik, Rubio, Lee, Vera) in close, workimanlike fashion.

He has some good attributes like chin and physical strength, but his speed is average at best and for all his size, his power is not much to write home about. But the biggest problem is his nonexistent defense.

Also, let's not forget that he has yet to fight a full fledged SMW. We don't know how well he fares against someone his own size.

Preparation is a key to success and his fight prep is piss poor at best.

Now if he takes the game seriously he does have talent and is a tough dude but until I see him consistently put in the proper work I can't rate him as high as he could be because of that inconsistency.

In order to be considered a very good fighter u have to beat very good fighters or at least not struggle with ok fighters. Jr has lost to the best fighter he's fought and struggled with a few ok fighters even losing to some honestly. That's not a very good fighter.
