Boxing is pillow fighting to UFC/MMA

For me it's like this, MMA is more brutal in the sense that you have many more ways to lose and get knocked out. Knees, elbows, kicks, punches, slams etc..I was just looking over some boxing videos on youtube and I drifted to MMA and I came across this video
Its just a compilation made by somebody of last years best knockouts. Quite brutal to be honest. Just look at some of those icings. Makes me wonder, how is it that just now studies are coming out saying MMA might be more brutal. Its like, jeez. Ya think? I thought that was the case for years. Scientists are slow. The punches alone look more trauma inducing than boxing. They are using those little azz gloves going HAM on each other. These guys have no chins either. They step in there with worse chins than Amir Khan using all kinds of spinning **** and force generating techniques. And on the ground is where they REALLY get ****ed up. Its WAYY more brutal than boxing imo. I dont know how you can say thats not the case and boxings worse, because its not.
Now, I think boxing gloves is what makes boxing dangerous. If you look at the world wide stats, there's more deaths in boxing than any other sport. I think the reason for that is the more padded gloves, which allow you to take more shots over the course of a fight.
I was listening to Joe Rogan's podcast and he had Matt Sera on. Matt Sera said that he has never been hurt worse than when he was in a Tough Man contest about 20 years ago. He said it was basically a boxing match and he ended up with a serious concussion.
Both are tough sports but I think in the long run, boxing's constant punching to the head has to be really, really bad for the fighters. Listen to someone like Meldrick Taylor or Michael Moore.Comment

I enjoy both mma and boxing,,, I have trained with several top mma guys that have very long pro careers (dan hornbuckle, Derrick noble, Kenny Robertson) and I can say those guys have above average skill set in boxing,, alittle one dimensional at times but much better than mma haters claim..
They are 2 different sports so comparing the 2 is pointless.... Like comparing how to score a goal in hockey and soccer, it's like debating ko in boxing and mmaComment
