Whereas I agree Khan changing trainers shows that he understood he had some defensive flaws, the problem is, Virgill Hunter is not a good fit for him. Khan has looked terrible in his last two outings, lost in trying to find himself. I can see he's in two minds, something he never was before. Yes that cost him the Garcia fight but he should have stayed with Roach and cleaned up his act, rather than blaming the man who had bought him to the big game.
I would give the Roach version of Khan a massive chance of beating Collazo but now, with him trying to pull off a cheap Lewis impersonation (out stretched arms to keep punches off him), I think Collazo will eventually time him and stop him.
I hope I'm wrong, I hope Ricky is wrong, Amir is a good fighter and a good kid. I've known him since his am days and I wish him all the best but I can't see him coming through this. It's a terrible state of matchmaking by his team, they should have pushed for a Broner fight, if that wasn't to be, surely they could have looked for a lighter touch at welterweight.
A long lay off, a new weight division, a poor trainer and a dangerous opponent can only mean disaster.
