At least there would be a genuine 'what if...' factor about the fight.

It is hard to tell but he has to be amongst the biggest hitters at 147.

I mean if Malignaggi were to beat Porter he'd deserve a Floyd fight but you'd have to be mad to want to see it.
If porter wins I'd be okay watching him fight Floyd to be honest... what say you?

Alexander, Paulie, Brook, then may 2015 vs Floyd...would be a good 3 fight run and very credible imo.

I know why people would say no, and I can't really argue, but if he can consider Amir Khan, he can consider Keith Thurman.

I would not complain if Mayweather fought Thurman next. I'd be more intrigued than any other realistic option I can think of.

Floyd can choose to fight whomever and whenever he wants. If he wanted to fight Thurman next, guess what? Thurman would be next. And then they'll sell it as young, hungry, up and coming lion, etc...

Point is, who's to say there is some kind of prerequisite for getting a Mayweather fight? If Thurman did get the fight, I wouldn't be bitc**ng about him "not being ready." I'd be ok with a good, young, aggressive fighter getting a shot. I mean Khan almost got it and he hadn't done a damn thing lately, so what exactly is the criteria?
That's the truth. Mayweather can fight whoever he wants to fight and he will be very well paid whether the fans like his choice or not. Khan almost got the fight this time and Thurman is much more worthy than Khan was because he has never lost and he has KOed rated welterweights.

has thurman headlined a fight yet? whether he's credible or not, he passes the "eye" test for most people, i don't think floyd will seriously consider him any time soon. let's be real, those PPV numbers will be atrocious.

Its easy to argue no because he hasn't fought anybody. Unfortunately he falls into that category of high risk low reward fighter for the moment. Once he reaches that level of fighting a high profile fighter he should get a crack but there's not much time.

Hell yeah. Are you kidding me. All he has to do is beat up some hype job like Khan, and he's more than credible for Floyd.

Guerrero, Ortiz, Berto ring a bell?
