That's what I read, could he sign a multi fight deal with Showtime after Fonfara?

I also find it hard to believe Stevenson wants to fight Kovalev when a deal is in place, he ran to Haymon, and the deal collapsed.
So they can still match it then? If Stevenson agrees to fight Kovalev, HBO would put some money up. Anything else, they won't care about

I think it will become a lot more possible after all of the options that would be big in Montreal or Quebec City are exhausted. IE- They either happen, or they categorically won't.

So just like Showtime outbid HBO for the Fonfara fight, it is possible for HBO to present Stevenson for an offersheet for Kovalev? And then Showtime can try to match it?

If so, then again it's a masterstroke by Haymon. Maximizing his fighters income that way.

If it doesn't end that way .... well..... It's back to #supertramp #superwoman.

Why wouldn't he do it if he did it with HBO?
This is business here isn't it?

Unless Hopkins loses, Stevenson will not go back to HBO this year. It's sad but sometimes that is boxing.

He did this bid move for money, if he doesn't initialize a bid in the fights both networks really want... then I think it's a duck.

more money in this bid than his crap fight since HBO didn't want to bother with it

Been saying this exact thing since the beginning. Got hated on for it and even added to Battling's little list.

BTW hopkins is number 1 LHW so if stevenson fights him instead it is not a duck in my book. If hopkins wins next fight hell have 2 belts, be a 1st ballot HOF, a legend, and a much much much more impressive name on resume. Kov will be Kov

I think next year would be the earliest, because he is going to fight the B-Hop-Shuemenov winner almost surely. Plus once HBO gets spurned like that they normally take their ball and go home, so I can't see them coming out of pocket that big but I suppose that is possible.

Once you get past that though I think it could happen as long as both guys stay on track, and may the highest bidder win at that point.
