It's an intriguing match-up, which I think slightly favors Kovalev. Stevenson has a slight edge in speed and defense, but Kovalev is the smarter fighter in my opinion. Both are equally powerful, but Kovalev has more consistent power. Nearly every punch Kovalev throws is packed with knock down level power, even his jabs.
At the end of the day, I think Stevenson has already lost the psychological edge by not meeting the challenging right as it was presented. He's basically created his own form of doubt, while Kovalev and his team are fearless with regard to any opposition.
In my opinion, Kovalev will go onto have a hall of fame level career and be one of the greatest light heavyweights of any era. He'll either defeat Stevenson in the ring or move past him outside of it because Stevenson ducks him.
Then it's all about putting pressure on Hopkins and Ward.
