Why do so many of you choose Kovalev over Stevenson?

It's an intriguing match-up, which I think slightly favors Kovalev. Stevenson has a slight edge in speed and defense, but Kovalev is the smarter fighter in my opinion. Both are equally powerful, but Kovalev has more consistent power. Nearly every punch Kovalev throws is packed with knock down level power, even his jabs.

At the end of the day, I think Stevenson has already lost the psychological edge by not meeting the challenging right as it was presented. He's basically created his own form of doubt, while Kovalev and his team are fearless with regard to any opposition.

In my opinion, Kovalev will go onto have a hall of fame level career and be one of the greatest light heavyweights of any era. He'll either defeat Stevenson in the ring or move past him outside of it because Stevenson ducks him.

Then it's all about putting pressure on Hopkins and Ward.

That's a very good question because the irony is if Kovalev is such a top dog in the sport as most fight fans tend to believe, then why is he chasing down Adonis for an opportunity to challenge him in the ring? To me it should be the other way around. It should be Stevenson chasing down Kovalev for an opportunity to compete against him in the ring since he is regarded as the better fighter.

I think that if fighting Sergey would produce the most amount of money for Stevenson, then he wouldn't hesitate at the chance of fighting him. However be that as it may, outside of U.S. television, Kovalev is an unknown. He doesn't have a large enough fan base or following to demand such a bout; Even among his own country men. The only ones who are demanding this fight are boxing fans because casual fans don't even know him.

Stevenson got sparked by Boone within 2. Kovalev would do him quicker than Boone did. If you're packing glass, you can't upgrade to iron.

Kovalev is more busy and comes with more volume and this could take Stevenson out of his comfort zone. Stevenson is very powerful and this can subdue his opponents and set a steady pace which he is used to. Kovalev will bring it to him and could get him flustered and out of his groove. personally I don't see much in it and it could go either way and it could come down to who lands hard first.

Stevenson fought Cloud and Dawson and won. Who has Kovalev fought? U guys did the same thing w/ Matthyssee by overhyping him after fighting virtually no one. Garcia showed he was overhyped.

Out of Kovalev, GGG, Fury, and Wilder neither have faced a world class opponent because all will be systematically dismantled. The only one that has shown enough skilled is GGG but he is there to be hit.

Maybe because Adonis doesn't choose he himself over Kovalev?

I'm not a big fan, or follower of either per say. But it seems like Adonis is hell bent on the business duck job. Therefore that leaves me with the presumption that he's scared $h!tless. So I gotta expect that he's afraid that the other guy destroys him. His actions leave me no choice other than to believe Kova obliterates him.
