  • Boxing Has Evolved, Fighters Are Better Today

fighters of the past can't hang with today. it's evolution baby!

Fighters before can't compete with the great technical skills of today, brought upon by the continous growth of great teaching handed down through generations of the squared circle.

We see not only a continued improvement in stamina, but in subtle skills like in-fighting and ring cutting.

A lumbering slow-poke plodder like JCC or a wild brawler like Duran could not compete with the technical genius and marvelous footwork of someone like Amir Khan. A midget like qawi couldn't compete with the marvelous physical and technical skills of a Jean Pascal

Look at this improvement! You guys are just nostalgic, xenaphobic, and biased!

I'm taking the '91 heavys and the '92 middleweights easily over the current fighters in those divisions.

I'm getting pretty sick of the trolling and idiocy on NSB these days!! There's only a handful of good posters left!

Whilst he is taking the p1ss I thought it was a good post.

It certainly shows that boxing hasn't evolved at all and todays fighters are inferior overall.

I'd actually like to see this but with more/all the divisions.

I mean look at the HWs outside of Wlad I don't think any of the current fighters are beating any of the 91 top 10
In fact I think the Middleweights are even weaker in comparison.

Name One welter weight today including Mayweather that can beat Tommy Hearns, Ray Leonard or Roberto Duran, Name one Jr Welter who can beat Aron Pryor. You don't know crap every ERA has good and bad fighter ask your self this question why did fighters of the past never had any problems going 15 rounds but fighters of today use conditioning coaches steroids and they still have trouble doing 12 rounds. There are only a few who can fight 15 rounds today

The difference between the 1992 middleweight division and today's division is epic. Sergio and GGG would barely be Top 10.
And you can add Michael Nunn who moved up to 168 in 1992.

The fact that you label Duran a wild brawler and Chavez a slow plodder suggests that your brain is devolving.

hilarious joke thread. as soon as you mentioned amir "the bolton ****er" khan it became all too clear that this was a not-so elaborate ruse.

having said that it does bring to light how far the standards have dropped today, with each division comparison more depressing than the last.
