Canelo: "Hey Floyd, I'll fight you at 150lbs!!!"

Floyd: "Make it 152 and it's a deal..."

    ****

ATG Ray Leonard, after getting his ass kicked by a lightweight: "My intention was to fight Durán ASAP because I knew Durán's habits. I knew he would indulge himself, he'd gain 40–50 lbs and then sweat it off to make 147."

        To clarify:

        1) Neither one that you mentioned had been going on their 3rd fight with a title (both fighters)

        2) You are mistaken with Sweet Pea/Chavez Sr

        3) Oscar struggled at his only fight there and people thought that he had lost.

        4) Floyd was considered the heavy favorite and the only advantage that Canelo had (size), Floyd used it against Canelo. So Canelo struggled throughout the training camp.
he fought there twice before the cw unification, one being 6 yrs before the other 1 year before. Its not like he was there continuously and he had dropped the title after the ODH fight. come on.

ODH fought there once. SO what if people thought he lost. He still unified at 157, 3 lbs under. He and BHop had titles. Don't excuse or justify it.

        Chavez/sweet pea was below 147.

With all due respect, you don't know if Canelo struggled or not. He said differently.

Funny how all the excuses come out now. Prior to the announcement of Floyd demanding Canelo fight at a CW, it was so different for these FLoyd fans .... now they come back and show us history of other fights to tell us CWs existed before Floyd vs Canelo ...

nobody else from back then said that CWs were so bad that it deemed that the loser is still undefeated.

i doubt it made any difference, but it was still kinda lame to have one.

on the one hand you are criticizing foyd for the CW fight based solely on what he said about Manny v cotto. Yes, floyd is a hypocrite and desreves to be called ut for it.

on the other hand, you are saying that fighting at a cw in a unification bout is something never seen before. in fact it has been done several other times. In that case you are wrong. So if you are going to criticize floyd for that it would seem you should have criticized the others for it as well. At the very least, it isn't something unprcedented as many have suggested.

                It was a ***** move

Floyd said he fights everyone at their best

Floyd stans here keep referring to 2010 when canelo said he can make 150, they say its fair despite seeing canelo eat grass for two months and look like a zombie

Yet when people being up 14 days testing, they said it doesn't count because it was said a year or two ago

Lmao what hypocritical idiots these Floyd fans are and Floyd himself

There is a reason Floyd gets zero credit for the win and will go down as a coward in history

Exactly. Floyd made himself and all his fans who b1tched and cried about Pac's catchweight look like hypocrites.

No one would have complained about Floyd demanding a catchweight if he had not said that he is not that type of guy and wants a guy at his natural weight and that Cotto was undefeated in his mind. And Floyds fans jumped all over Pac for that fight but when Floyd did it, they came out with excuses. A couple Floyd fans with some sense said that they did not approve of what Floyd did. Others continued to slurp up Floyd's jizz like it was manna from the heaven's.

Canelo said it BEFORE signing, during signing, training camp and so on. Perhaps you missed it but Canelo said this on I believe ALL ACCESS "The toughest part about my training camp was having to go down to 152"

Chavez/sweet pea: Chavez wasn't going into the fight with a WW title.

Oscar vs Sturm: Oscar tried it there and struggled. Some say he should have lost. So instead of going back up he fought at 157 against a much bigger challenge named Hopkins. This was NOT the same scenario as Floyd. Floyd was #1 P4P who already fought at 154 twice got a title each time and was going for fight #3 at 154 ...... Floyd was the clear favorite. That is what I was asking NOT what you came back with!

Excuse? Yup, in this thread I'm finding plenty of them coming from Floyd fans.

Floyd fans prior to Floyd vs Canelo and now, it's like day and night. This is why others like myself are having a bit of fun today ....
