i do get your point and its wishfull thinking for Erik to go to Manila but, aside from the VIPs that will go see the fight in the P.I., BIG BUKCS will/should come from corporate sponsors and government subsidies in the Philippines there lies the money ... -
I also saw the news last night and Arum said that finkel is going with the idea of staging the fight in manila. I will look for the link. Here's oneOriginally posted by JOM'Scan you share the link ...
although it does not look fair Erik going to Manila, but if it ever happens IT WILL BE BIG!!!
i just hope arum milks the sponsors (companies like SMB) not the ordinary pinoy, if that happens, maybe we will see the biggest ever crowd to watch a boxing match !!

I agree that at least 500 k people will watch the fight live and it can go as high as 2 million. That's how popular pacman is in the Philippines. This presents a ver very big problem considering the ultra stampede is still very fresh in our mind. At an average of 150 - 200 pesos per person, the fight will easily get around 75 million to 400 million at the gate and that is not including sponsorship which I think may go as high as 1 billion pesos. Translate that to dollars and we can see that it is highly probable that the fight will be held in manila.Originally posted by Ace_KickerFor those not in the know, there are some big venues in the Philippines now where they can held large crowd events. Araneta will definitely be out of the list since it just can accomodate about 15,000 lest will have a repeat of the Ultra stampede. Im guessing the number of attendees to be in 500,000 - 1,000,000 and yes, Im not joking. Hell, one religious sect converge to about 1.5M on every Sunday alone. Those who can accomodate these are the Fort Bonifacio Global City (Mariah Carey and the Fahsang bout), the reclaimed area in Roxas Boulevard (Michael jackson concert and site of the biggest mall in Asia to be built by SM) or theQuirino Grandstand.. its not on ink yet but its gonna be one helluva logistics and security nightmare if it pushes through
