Arum: Morales - Pacquiao 3 in Manila

In an interview with Dyan Castillejo, Bob Arum confirms that the Sept. 16 date for Pacquiao-Morales 3 is on. Details of the purse have yet to be discussed but on their next meeting with Shelly Finkel, Pacquiao's US manager, they are going to discuss the possibility of staging the fight in Manila. However, it will take more convincing for Erik to come to Manila, but says " It's all about the Benjamins !!" (referring to the $100 dollar bills).

Thrilla in Manila 2??? Incidentally, Arum was one of the promoters of Thrilla in Manila 1975.

can you share the link ...

although it does not look fair Erik going to Manila, but if it ever happens IT WILL BE BIG!!!

i just hope arum milks the sponsors (companies like SMB) not the ordinary pinoy, if that happens, maybe we will see the biggest ever crowd to watch a boxing match !!

If the fight is at 130, Pac will say what he always says "Anytime, Anywhere!"

I dont think that will happen this fight is way to big to have anywere else but in the states. I dont think they could charge a couple thousan dollars for the front roll tickets in the phillipines or as much as they do for all seats in vegas because its he'll of exspensive to go to the fights if you want a good seat and especially if your thinking about taking your girl!!! forget about it!!!

              IMHO, NOTHING IS TOO BIG!!!

REMEMBER THRILLA IN MANILA, the Ali-Frazier III was big and the promoters pulled it off ...

to stage a fight this big in the P.I. you just have to get enough sponsors to finance the fight and subsidy from the government who will have an interest on this fight for the fights major tourism impact...

i am sure there are a lot of interest here and to top it all it may cost a pinoy fan NOTHING to watch the fight and all will be FREE...

The P.I. boast of one of the biggest attended fights in the HISTORY of BOXING with over 100,000 in attendance !!!

PAC and ERIK 3 in MANILA will be bigger than that...

Yeah I don't think ticket value will be a problem here. Everyone will pull of their life savings to see this fight live. Pacquaioa is a national icon, its not everyday that you see him in a huge fight like this. I think it will made a great ammount. Also the revenue of selling it on TV, literarly the entire country will be watching the fight.

You have to remember how big President Marcos is back in those days. He was the darling of the United States. If not for him, that fight would not have been staged in the Philippines. And also the fact that back then, Marcos hasn't stolen the country's wealth yet.
