Was it Arum's idea to have the fight in Manila or is it PAC's team that wants it there?

to stage a fight this big in the P.I. you just have to get enough sponsors to finance the fight and subsidy from the government who will have an interest on this fight for the fights major tourism impact...

i am sure there are a lot of interest here and to top it all it may cost a pinoy fan NOTHING to watch the fight and all will be FREE...
I see were your coming from but thats no comparison Ali vs Frazier were both americans and people down here have that kind of money to fly and get good seats and plus back then thats when the sport was at its best! Aint no Mexicans going to fly down their to go see a fight are you crazy whe aint rich!! except probably the mafiosos. thier probably be a couple die hard americans at the fight but mostly fillipinos so I just dont think it would make the same kind of money as the ali vs frazier

Its actually conceptualized by Arum and he and Shelly will talk about it.

well that was the old Araneta. Now its has undergone tremendous renovation some 3 years ago and it has a luxury mall on its side called the Gateway. Andy Williams just had his concert there days ago.

For those not in the know, there are some big venues in the Philippines now where they can held large crowd events. Araneta will definitely be out of the list since it just can accomodate about 15,000 lest will have a repeat of the Ultra stampede. Im guessing the number of attendees to be in 500,000 - 1,000,000 and yes, Im not joking. Hell, one religious sect converge to about 1.5M on every Sunday alone. Those who can accomodate these are the Fort Bonifacio Global City (Mariah Carey and the Fahsang bout), the reclaimed area in Roxas Boulevard (Michael jackson concert and site of the biggest mall in Asia to be built by SM) or theQuirino Grandstand.. its not on ink yet but its gonna be one helluva logistics and security nightmare if it pushes through
