Well Gamboa had the chance to fight Uchi when he was WBA interim but never dared mention him instead went against a prospect in Perez.

Gamboa hasn't beaten a single top ten fighter in his current weight class (135) or the previous one (130). Why would Garcia's team be afraid of a fighter like Gamboa who constantly gets hit with counters and dropped?
This way of handling the situation with progressive excuses, contradictory ones, shows they are hiding how afraid they are. Ill believe Arum excuse if just at the beginning Arum said that, but two months later after lying means they have something to hide and in boxing is afraid of loose the cash cow like nonito was

Robert probably gets flashbacks of Abril-Rios.

It's a better, more relevant fight. People act like Gamboa is this top pound for pound dominant force, but he's not. He hasn't been anywhere near that level in years.

I wonder if Team Garcia is mad or happy as **** Bob put his face out there to save them from Gamboa (who has said would fight at 130 as well) so that just moved up b/s is horse****. Hbo didn't want no other fight now they gotta go to China chasing a save face fight.
