Haymon will run Showtime dry then move on to the next sucker, he's bad for boxing period!

I understand the point your trying to make but this is about Haymon and HBO. AD is just a pawn in the scheme of things. True his original advisor thought that was the best deal he could get but that obviously wasn't the case because HBO would've gave him the extra 40%. At least according to the article. Not sure if that's really true or not. But my point is AD was right about the money.Adonis allowed him to do it.
Adonis' manager told Adonis that the Kovalev deal was the BEST he would get. Adonis STILL wouldn't accept the deal.
Adonis then goes and gets Haymon who asks for a 40% increase than what HBO originally offered, but still wouldn't guarantee that they would fight Kovalev even if HBO accepted. But Haymon said he would only negotiate a Fonfara fight for less money.... WTF?!?!
Again, Adonis allowed him to do all of this despite what his long time manager was telling him. Even Stevenson's manager said the Kovalev deal was THE BEST AVAILABLE DEAL
This is crazy to meComment

all started on Showtime ahh remember the old days when Showtime used to have a boxing event once a month usually at the start of it.
And to think HBO actually did this in a sense by hiring Hershman away from Showtime leaving a void that was filled by a former GB rep how ingenious was that a patsy that would be able to facilitate with GB upper management.Comment

Cuz he has no choice nowGBP along with Haymon are trying to create a UFC type entity in boxing. Cut off from the rest of the industry. The writing is on the wall. What is GBP doing? All in house. Join us to escape the outside world.
I used to be on the fence about all this but I am starting to think GBP/Haymon are risking killing off this sport.
What bugs me the most about all this is there are still many here who feel that it is Arum who is keeping everything in house. They talk like he is the evil one.
We saw him put Bradley and Alvarado in against Provo. Was trying to get Manny and Marquez in the ring with him also. He is now willing to put Jr in with Golovkin.
I mean these are far from cherry picks. He seems willing to put his guys in with dangerous opponents from other promotional houses.Comment

Canelo and Broner were their main non-PPV attractions when Schaefer/Haymon left HBO. Two prime examples of Haymon-led matchmaking manipulation. Lopez and Rees were their last fights respectively. Question is, will Showtime have the money and tolerance to build new stars engineered by the same duo Haymon/Schaefer?
Right now Showtime is reaping the rewards and all they have to do is match up the stars that HBO has built up. If you have noticed, most of them have been on a long layoff. Matthysse, Guerrero, Berto, Khan... a sign that Showtime don't have the resources to pump out fights at a fast rate.Comment

haymon obviously believes Kovalev would beat stevenson. Hence pricing him out.
What a wanker ... say what you will about uncle Bob and Schaefer and co. but Haymon is probably one of the worst things for the fans in the sport right now.
Haymon is hurting the sport more than any single other person.Comment

Who knows? But you can sense that Schaefer is just a clown getting crumbs out of the Mayweather fights, which he likes to brag about. The guy will end up an ordinary employee in Haymon's office.
Hoya needs to take back control over his company and start afresh without these clowns Haymon and Schafer. HBO will gladly welcome Oscar back.Comment

I'd say that matchup has a little more time to mature into a bigger event. Considering the lack of big money fights available to Stevenson.Comment

Yeah, any reasoning I thought existed to defend Stevenson is gone. I hope the POS hears it nonstop from boxing fans.Comment
