What does the hopkins ppv have to do with him ducking Kovalev though? If he would of fought him instead of ducking behind Haymon like Floyd does it would of made the Hopkins PPV even bigger

No - Stevenson chose Fonfara over Kovalev, at the time BHop wasn't even an option, and according to him he didn't want to fight his fellow Haitian (or was it Pascal said that?)

Without a BHop fight on the table or even (as far as we know) in the pipeline, Kovalev was by far the most lucrative option, but Stevenson wanted an 'easier' fight first after a busy 2013. The rest, as they say, is history.

My figures are just educated guesses on my part, but there is no doubt that Hopkins brings more money than kovolev... May not be the better fight, but having a big name brings big money, that's why Chavez jr, and cotto are in such high demand,, they bring the cash

Stevenson was going to fight Fonfara first regardless of him being on showtime or HBo just like kovolev was fighting another (Agnew) fighter too

Here are some numbers, against Tavoris Cloud the purse split was 850k for hopkins 500k for cloud. In the first dawson fight, which was ppv btw, the split was 1mil for hopkins and 800k for dawson.

A stevenson fight would definetly be bigger than both those fights but I cant imagine by too much. I remember reading somewhere hopkins would get the bigger cut too which would be weird since stevenson is the champ.

Either way, the MAX i can see stevenson making something like 1.5 mil against hopkins. And i guarantee he would be making about the same against kovalev.

People really don't realize that Hopkins last two PPV's in 4 years have done a total of 170K-190K...

Hopkins is NOT a PPV star. Nothing about doing 40k on PPV numbers says star about anything.

That said, I'm still waiting on concrete numbers on how much Stevenson is making for going with BHOP. All these businessmen and all these threads leading up to this point, I thought there would've been actual "no kidding" numbers available.

For all we know, Stevenson could only be getting an extra $1200 for going with Hopkins.

All I'm getting so far are assumptions from my boxingscene businessmen brederan

Maybe DoctorSleepless can provide actual negotiation numbers on how much Stevenson is making with Hopkins than Kovalev. He seemed to have "insider" knowledge

I get it,so he's going to Showtime not to fight B-Hop..I see..

Thats the question, why did he turn down Kovalev to fight Fonfara if he's all about the business of boxing and the belts?
