i dunno. but chavez jr is a step up for him, which is kinda sad at this point. whats funny is ppl are acting like hes fighting some boxing god. nope...hes just fighting a fat ass slacker who will make him a lot of money and make him look good at the same time. but this is enough for most.

Golovkin didn't duck Ward for Chavez because Ward has legal issues, but it's all awfully convenient. Before the Chavez fight was being discussed, team Golovkin said they were going to unify the division before moving up whenever Ward was mentioned. Then Golovkin sneakily moves while Ward is looking away. And at the same time, they're screaming that Martinez and Quillin are ducking him and the fights will never happen, but when Ward is mentioned, the fights will definitely happen all of the sudden.
I really saw nothing wrong with Golovkin not wanting to fight Ward, but he bit himself with the whole "I'll fight anyone between 154-168" line. And now that he's moving to 168, Golovkin is fair game for Ward. If Martinez ducks Golovkin (I could see Martinez fighting Rubio next), will Golovkin duck Ward? Will you hear Golovkin challenge the the second best fighter in the world and make the same fuss he has made over Martinez?Last edited by DoktorSleepless; 03-27-2014, 02:06 PM.

Manny, GGG and alot of fighters are nothing but self esteem
projects for some people. They will be praise for just putting
on boxing gloves.
Guys like Floyd, Ward and Broner are competing with legends like Ali, Sugar Ray and Jack Johnson. They have to be great because history demands it.
Those other guy have no such burden.
